We use Tom's of Maine flouride free in Silly Strawberry but LO seems to hate it so much. She is ok when I brush with just water but that toothpaste makes her mad...and I don't even use that much!

We use the same one, and DD loves it! She also was fine with the Crest kids toothpaste, and she has a Disney princess one that she also likes. I guess she is just not picky. We need to be better about DS's teeth.

What age did you start using toothpaste? I was thinking about htat this weekend, I wipe LO's mouth but haven't used anything but water.

We use Branam Xylitol toothpaste, and my LO loves it. We have tried bubble gum and grape flavored.

@LuLu Mom: She got her first teeth right before she turned 4 months and I just wiped her mouth and teeth until I introduced the toothpaste around 11 months.

When does toothpaste become necissary? I just figured we'd start when she's old enough to understand how to spit it out

@luckypenny: my SIL is a dental hygienist and she says it is good practice as soon as they eat solid meals.

I use the same one! Tom's Silly Strawberry. My son loves it though. That's the problem actually. He wants to keep eating it! We had to teach him to spit it out, which he does most of the time. But once in a while, he'll swallow the toothpaste. ugh. I really want to switch him to a fluoride one soon so I need to make sure he doesn't swallow the toothpaste every time.

@autumnlove: My son is a strange little kid though. He loves the taste of medicine. He always whines for more children's tylenol or benadryl! haha
