Our last date got cancelled so we're planning now for another evening. We may see a comedy show, or maybe a play (if the timing works out!). Would be nice to do a fancy dinner too, but then the evening kind of adds up!
Would love some ideas/inspiration. What kind of fun things do you do on dates?

We usually go to dinner. Sometimes a movie. So that's not very exciting stuff. But in a couple of weeks we're doing a wine and paint night. I'm looking forward to that - it'll be something different for us.

I really wanted to do a paint night, but I realized I don't want to end up with 2 of the same paintings!
Our default is dinner too.. Both of us are home bodies, but then if LO is being babysat at home then we have to be out haha!

We haven't been on a date in forever but in addition to the standard dinner and a movie, we like to mix things up. I read somewhere that one way to deepen intimacy and emotional bonds is to learn something together. One of our favorite dates (before all of these wine and paint events popped up) was going to a craft store together, picking out paints, and painting each other's portrait. We are both NOT painters. It was fun.
We went to Barnes & Noble recently and browsed books together, sat in the cafe, and read to each other.
We want to take some type of cooking class or rock climbing class together. Maybe you guys could do that? An improv class?

@snowjewelz: they have couples nights where you do two parts to a single painting or something like that.
ETA: we've done cooking classes and both Really enjoyed them!

We've also loved doing cooking classes. We like going to concerts or sporting events as well. NYC has a lot of food/drink "events" too and we like to go to those (like Choice Eats, Chili Fest etc)

We do all the typical too but just recently took a cooking class, which was fun. We like to take walking tours and go to museums too since we're both history geeks.

@fancyfunction: Walking tours is a great idea! We did a few times when we lived in Philly. Another fun one that we did was brewery tours.
@snowjewelz: I've thought about that and figured if it's really good maybe we'll give one to Hubs' parents. His mom would probably love it.

@mrsjazz: That's really cool about learning something together! I'll have to look into that... we took a course on tasting cheese/olive oil once upon a time, and that was a lot of fun! Plus, delicious.

@littlebug: that is cute! i don't think either of our families would care for it lol! I thought about putting them in totally different floors in the house too but I haven't seen a painting that goes soo great that I'd want 2 of lol!

For fun and efficient we see movies at iPic or go to a comedyclub. That way we will have dinner, drinks, and entertainment.
Groupon and Living Social have opened us up to a bunch of activities we would not have readily sought out ourselves like kiteboarding. We've going to alot of food festivals, which are a perfect way to spend Sunday.
Couch to 5K is a surprisingly fun way to spend time together.
+1 on the walking food tours or ghost tours. It's fun to learn about a city that way. @mrsjazz: very romantic!

We went to an improv show last year which was a lot of fun. Where we live wine tasting is our most frequent date activity. We also have a one screen theatre in walking distance, or the drive in down the road during summer.

I don't really like to go to things where we have to be quiet. Since date nights are so few and far between, I want to be able to catch up with him and talk and laugh. So, we usually go out to dinner and/or dessert, or just drinks and then a walk. We really like to go for walks down on the marina that's closest to our house.

I love food so I love going out to dinner on date night. it's the perfect amount of time to have a babysitter and catch up. Our next date is at at a venue that serves great food and has live music - so excited! And we have a few day dates planned where we are going to go shopping and get lunch together - we both need some new clothes

At home we don't have many options besides dinner and a movie. There is a beautiful place near us with great food and a farm you can explore so we do that, or our historic downtown is fun to walk around.
If we go see in laws in Dallas we go to a nearby place to drive go carts or visit a nearby brewery.

Around the house we'll take the dog for walks on trails, play board games, cook together, watch 'our shows'.
