I've never been to one before and I'm going this weekend for my friends LO. I bought him a toy. Should I give money also?
I couldn't bring myself to buy a baptism card since they all say such religious things and I'm totally not religious so it would feel weird giving a card expressing sentiments that are not my own.

If you're not inclined to gift some sort of religious token (a children's bible, a cross, etc), the next most common gift is money. I've given a silver piggy bank, before, and it was well received.

A religious item like a cross or cash. If you're not comfortable with religious gifts I'd go with a keepsake item like a silver frame.

@californiadreams: A picture frame or cash is usually very appreciated. It doesn't have to be too religious. I think just showing your support in attendance is a kind gesture in itself. It's probably too late to order from this site, but I love it for making gifts special http://www.personalizationmall.com

I have given personalized baptism gifts from etsy along with cash. I do stick to baptism cards, but the subdued versions with simple messages.

My daughter was given a personalized pewter cup, money, and some books of children's prayers. I think a toy is plenty. If you don't want to get a baptism card, you could just get a blank one and write in "Congratulations on your babtism".

I've only been to baptisms where the baptizee is 8yrs old. So for that we just give money, a card and a religious book.
