LO isn't talking yet, but he's pretty clear when he doesn't want me.

@edelweiss: my younger daughter makes it very clear when she doesn't want me around! I get the Heisman!

@autumnlove: What is it about dads?! If Dan's in the room, I'm chopped liver.
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@photojane: ya, LO 2 likes to repeat dada all day long!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
Ugh, Xander's all about Dada too. Everyday when I pick him up from daycare, it's a struggle to get him to leave and he just fights me. But then yesterday, I said "Dada's home early! Want to go home and see Dada?" and he just ran for the exit. Grrr!
Xander doesn't SAY anything mean yet, but he's taken to waving his hand dismissively at me when he doesn't want to listen to me and will cry and arch his back if he doesn't want me to hold him.

If lil B gets mad at his new thing is to spit at me.... yup my 14 months old is starting some tantrums!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Adira: oh hugs, I remember when LO hated to leave daycare...it was kinda stressful. I always felt embarrassed when she ran away from me because other kids were happy to see their parents.
papaya / 10473 posts
I say "Can I have a kiss?" and he shakes his head no, and pushes me in the face to keep me away from him Or I'll pick him up, and he'll go "Noooooooo! DaDa!" and point at DH.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@autumnlove: YES!!!! ALL the other kids get sooooo excited to see their parents, but Xander wants NOTHING to do with me! I spent 10 minutes chasing him around before I just force him to leave while he cries!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Adira: the daddy preference will come in handy when the new baby comes. I have two mama's boys right now and I get spread pretty thin.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Dandelion: That's true! Hubs has already declared he'll be taking over with Xander when the new baby comes and I'm on my own, haha. Although watch - the new baby will get here and then Xander will be all over me!

When I go to get L out bed in the morning (I don't know WHY she stays put in her floor bed, but I am ever so grateful!) I ask her for a hug and a kiss and she shakes her head 'no' and asks for a book
But, if that's as bad as I have it for now, I'll take it!! Not looking forward to the sass!

@grizz: ummmm Momma has only had ONE kiss the the past 48 hours here. All the rest have been aggressive no headshakes. I blame molars!

"I want daddy, I don't want mommy!"
"If you're mad at me, I'm mad at you too!"
"Go away!"
"I don't like mommy"

@grizz: I get bitch slapped when I ask for a kiss so you have my sympathies
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
Right now it's "bye bye mommy..." as in you go away...
pomegranate / 3411 posts
sometimes when I want to take him for a walk in the carrier, he sees me strapping it around my waist and walk towards him - then he runs as fast and as far away as possible from me. And if I get close, he throws himself on the floor. I think it is hilarious though.
grapefruit / 4554 posts
Instead of saying no, my 2 y/o says "enough mommy"
I also get a lot of "leave me alone mommy"
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
She doesn't really talk yet but I get a lot of eye rolling.

@autumnlove: not so sweet all the time, LOL! we get our fair share of devilish N...

"Go away" and "No touchie mama!" (Usually it is "No touchie Dada!") referring both to touching her and touching something she wants.

Me: "M, do you love mama?"
M: NO (with serious disgusted face)
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: how do you usually respond to her? I tell her that I know she is upset but I still need to brush her teeth/change/give a bath, etc!
Toddlers!
pineapple / 12234 posts
E: "go away" so simple but it stings!
B: "you're the worst mom in the world"
"You're a bad person" (usually when I put him in a timeout)
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@autumnlove: I usually say, "You don't have to like me, but you still have to do X, Y, Z...."
Or, "I know you're mad because I won't give you X, Y, Z... BUT..." - sometimes I explain to her why I won't give in to her request.
I don't really get phased by these things because I know she doesn't mean it and is saying them out of emotion. Toddlers, indeed!
nectarine / 2504 posts
He's a mama's boy so the meanest thing he says to me is "go away". When I actually walk away, he cries for me. He's much meaner to DH.
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Mrs. High Heels: Thanks! I wonder when our second LOs will give us some sass!
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
@autumnlove: sorry, I had to laugh, but that's EXACTLY what W is saying to me now.
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@BabyBoecksMom: Ha, we need to get these girls together...lol!
blogger / eggplant / 11551 posts
@autumnlove: haha, he needs to learn to talk first so I think I got some time. His tantrums are already more outrageous than N's ever were though. He's so passionate and emotional!
coconut / 8861 posts
@autumnlove: Everything you listed is what my LO says. It's a lot of "No, Mommy." I'm only good when he can't get what he wants from Daddy or is redirected to me. We're working on this phase which I hate.
eggplant / 11287 posts
Well yesterday W told me there was a baby in my belly... I would consider that mean!
pomegranate / 3872 posts
LO doesn't talk enough to say mean things yet, but for a sweet little angel, she has an incredible b**** face she can make when she's displeased. I feel like I'm looking into the future of her at 12 years old making that face at me. DH gets scared lol.
persimmon / 1147 posts
My 22 month old will tell me to "go" which is her version of "go away." That and a strong daddy preference particularly with the bumps and falls.
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Rainbow Sprinkles: wait...didn't you post about periods yesterday? Jk!
@cascademom: toddlers can be so mean!
persimmon / 1458 posts
@Adira: I remember when my son did this too. It made me feel horrible. But now he gets excited when I pick him up. He's a total daddy's boy though. My new little guy will have to be a mama's boy by default!
