LO had her four month vaccinations yesterday (Friday) morning and wow has it been tough this time! She had Rotavirus, polio, and the 5-in-1 DTap, HiB, HepB vaccines, the same ones she had at six weeks. At her six week shots, she ran a low grade fever (100.4), and was very tired for two days, but other than that she was fine.

After yesterday's shots, she was fine all day, happy, cooing, laughing etc, with no fever, until about 8 hrs after the shots. I put her down for a nap and noticed she kept making little moaning noises in her sleep. I didn't think too much of it (hello terrible mother) until I woke her from her nap and realised she was quite warm - she had a temp of 103.3! I panicked of course and DH and I tried to get some Tylenol in her but she projectile vomited everywhere several times. She also looked like she was trying to cry but couldn't really get out more than a whimper.

We called the doctor and they sent one out to check on her, but by the time he got here, her fever was down to 100.1 and she was perfectly happy and fine. It's now 4:30 am and she just woke with a piercing cry (very unusual) and is still not right although she doesn't have a fever.

Ugh, I know they're a wonderful thing but I just wish immunizations weren't so rough on our LOs! I'm dreading the 6 month shots, that's for sure!

If you actually got this far in reading, thanks! How did your LO react to vaccinations? Any tips or tricks to make it easier for them?
