I'm going to pick some up now... Mrs. Bee likes Cabs, so I usually get that when I buy some wine. I like most red wines, especially when I eat them with a nice steak or something. Mmm... haven't done had wine with dinner in forever.

Big, bold reds. Love French and Spanish reds most. I don't like cabs that are really smokey, and I don't like sweet dessert wines. I also like some whites; but only very dry, non-oaky ones.

I like cabs with a steak dinner or on its own, but in general i love cote du rhones or pinot noirs with food. I also like whites...dry rieslings, chablis, or cab sauvignon. Not to offend anyone, but I am NOT a fan of pinot grigio...i think it is such an overrated wine!

Favorite reds : Cab, shiraz, pinots from Oregon, and a good Chianti.
Favorite white: Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand. I'll drink a pinot grigio or pinot gris. Chardonnay is not my thing!

@Boogs: i got into it by drinking wine coolers in university. Haha...then i moved to white wines, lighter reds like gamays and then began to appreciate drier, heavier reds. I am the opposite...i am a wine girl who began to really love beer in the last few years!

@Boogs: if you like sweetish wines, try an off dry riesling, gewurtzraminer or muscat from canada, german or france. Sauv blancs from cali or new zealand are quite refreshing. 
i have to admit, i like white zinfandels during the summer.

@Boogs: I agree about whites too. The first white wine I ever enjoyed was Dr. Loosen Riesling. It had a screw cap (but that doesn't dictate the quality of wine anymore) It's really delish and affordable.

In all seriousness, I tend to prefer sweetish reds, although I have yet to meet a red I haven't enjoyed. The Little Penguin is my very affordable favorite, although DH sometimes brings home a big jug bottle of Lake Country (which is light and sweet--more like slightly wine-flavored fruit juice).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who LOVES moscato and sweet white wines! Wish I had a more sophisticated palette, but I like it when wine tastes like juice with a kick

I'm a big fan of a few oregon pinot gris (i like erath and a to z) and sauvignon blanc (im going through a new zealand phase-kim crawford and oyster bay specifically...they arent super high end, but very tasty!)
If I drink a red, it tends to be pinot noir.

Pinot Grigio and Moscato. I also really like Andre...yes, it's like $4/bottle, but it reminds me of college and actually doesn't taste too bad!!

Cheap, sweet, sweet whites. I will usually buy barefoot pinot grigio or moscato. I also like presecco and cheap champagne on occasion. Not a fan of chardonnay or anything oaky. I don't have a red preference since I drink it so rarely!
My sister lives in CA and was in Napa for a year and works at a fancy restaurant where she has to know a lot about wine. I let her pick when we are together, and she pokes fun at me for liking white zin!

@PrincessBaby: Exactly! Have you ever had the Andre Spumante? I actually really like the way that one tastes on its own. But I agree--if you're mixing it with something no one will ever know the difference.

Cabernet Sauvignon all the way! However I started off with moscato, rieslings, and rose's and worked my way into liking the dark reds. I can't get enough!
I'm also a huge beer snob, coming from a state praised for its microbrews.

Love reds! Cabernet and Pinot Noir. Malbecs and Syrahs are also pretty good. Not so much a fan of Merlot anymore.

We drink a lot of pinots now since we have really good ones in Oregon. My husband is the wine enthusiast in our house and Pinot is his favorite varietal so it's perfect. He's pretty well versed in Italian and American wines so now he's tackling the French ones.

For those of you out there who love sweet white wines "but wish I was more sophisticated" don't worry about it! Some of the most "sophisticated" wines in the world are sweet and white...
I can like all kinds of wines, but our favorites are Champagnes and German Rieslings. After that, red white burgs.
Had a Trousseu from Arnot-Roberts last night...super fun light red wine.
