I was just going to post this question, cause DH and I need to spice things up but I am not sure how.

For us, just hanging out with each other & talking is the best thing to bring us closer. Our LO goes to bed at 7, that gves us a couple horus of adult time to just be a couple. We notice we start to bicker if we haven't "hungout" in awhile. (seperate rooms watching TV, ect.)

We considered life very "spiced up" whenever we do something out of the ordinary! We are homebodies so even going out to a new restaurant, or actually having fun plans get us very excited! I love sharing new experiences together and I think when we make new memories it brings us closer to each other.

@Anagram: I'll add that naked snuggling is even better.

@ShootingStar: hahaha, yes! naked snuggling! that may have been my request for mr. bird's first day off since christmas this coming weekend, i wanna spend an entire day hanging out naked, in bed, snuggling.... and stuff really, you can't help but bond with someone when you're snuggling naked, it just makes you closer! even if it's not sexy time naked snuggling, just being nekkid! bonus points if there's water involved- naked bathtub snuggles are the best!

i think a change of scenery helps. don't get me wrong, i think rituals are really important & help to maintain connection, but sometimes a change of scenery can help you to refocus. taking away all the reminders of things that you need/want to do (i'm listening to you, but i'm noticing the trash needs to be emptied or i'm kissing you but thinking i need to take chicken out of the freezer for dinner tomorrow, etc) lets you just be present in that moment. we are all so distracted, i think being totally present is one of the most genuine & beautiful gifts you can give your SO. go somewhere new and just be present experiencing that with them.
