I've lived all over the country but now that I'm in the South, it can make it difficult to feel like the holidays are coming up when I'm still wearing a t-shirt. I like the feeling of bundling up to go outside and also getting the oven going, cooking yummy treats. That's what makes me get in the holiday spirt. What about you?

I've always lived in Florida so I'm used to having a not cold holiday season. I never feel like it's the holidays until they actually get there because we don't do a lot of preparation like decorating for Chanukah.

We're in Cali now, so I'm having the same problem. I find putting up the tree and turning on a little Charlie Brown Christmas music does the trick. Baking Christmas cookies and drinking peppermint hot cocoa also helps/

as a native New Englander, I totally love blizzards and 2 feet of snow! Haha. We always joke that we get 2 weeks of autumn and 2 weeks of spring between our scorching summers and icy winters, but this year autumn has gone on forever I'm hearing that there won't be a white Christmas this year, which makes me sad! I decorated my tree one year with a White Christmas theme (all white and silver) and it snowed the next day... I'm seriously considering re-decorating the tree to be that way to bring us some snowwww!!!

@tina: HAHA. I actually don't mind the wild winter! I've lived in CA almost my entire life, so I'm used to wearing flip flops and open toed shoes all year.

@chopsuey119: it sure would be nice to be able to wear flip flops all year (and not have to shop for a winter wardrobe! So expensive!) but I always say I couldn't move from here because I'd miss snow too much!
At this point I may as well move to milder climates because we ain't seein NO snow!!!

I'm in Atlanta, GA. I had no idea it snowed here until I moved out here! My sister went to Wellesley and it was crazy seeing pictures of her in waist deep snow!

Family, lights, decorations, Christmas music and snow. Though we haven't had snow yet
So I'm a little bummed out. this time last year we had already had over 40" of snow, and this year we have had none! I can't believe it. I live in one of the snowiest city's in the US, and the south has had more snow that us!

Snow and Christmas lights. We don't get snow down here but we get the lights. Our house gets more and more decorated each year, that really helps with feeling festive. Bring on the Christmas music and spiced cider!
It doesn't feel like Christmas at all!
Also zoolights for the kids, we're doing that tonight too.
