We're heading near Ikea this weekend and plan on picking up a crib (Ikea isn't super close by anymore so killing two birds with one stone!) and some other random stuff. If you have/had an Ikea crib, did you use an Ikea mattress with it or a mattress from somewhere else?

we used an ikea mattress with our ikea crib... got the most expensive one they had, i think it was $100 or something... they had some that were cheaper but they had samples out to feel them all adn the most expensive one seemed the nicest.

My parents bought us a crib and mattress from IKEA. I'm pretty sure it is the most expensive mattress. We have been happy with it so far!

Yep we have an ikea mattress. Seems to be fine for LO.

Either. We got a naturpedic mattress and it works just fine with our Ikea crib.

We have the Ikea Sundvik crib with the Moonlight Slumber Little Dreamer mattress. Crib fits any standard crib mattress.

We have the Gulliver crib with a Moonlight Slumber Little Dreamer mattress. We ordered the mattress on Amazon, and it fits perfectly.

I would probably buy a different mattress to go with the IKEA crib.

We bought an ikea mattress for the ikea crib, it was the most expensive one and my LO was comfy on it.

@QBbride: Out of curiosity, how come? I will say, I have an Ikea bed frame but not an Ikea mattress myself which is why I'm asking the question for LO

@LindsayInNY: I dont really know, for me I would rather get a cheap crib and an expensive mattress. Your LO will spend a lot of time in his/her crib (hopefully!) and I think it's important to have a mattress without chemicals and one that is really good for their back. We got a nice organic mattress, which was important to me. Just my opinion though!!

@QBbride: That was my initial thought. I know Ikea has higher safety standards since they're internationally based than US standards. I guess I'll have to test out the mattresses in store.

@LindsayInNY: yes definitely test them out! I sleep better on a comfortable mattress so I had that same feeling for my LO. I got one with a firm side (baby) and a softer side (toddler).
