LO ended up loving a swing and not really the auto rock and play.
But, for a summer baby, sleepers were a complete waste. She wore them once or twice and that's it. Some she outgrew without even wearing! Obviously different for other seasons though.

So much Boppy hate! I use mine every single day! I actually wish I had two- one for upstairs and one for down.
LO didn't care for the Wubbanub, and I don't really care for the A&A blankets I mean, they're cute, but I don't get the hype.

I didn't like the boppy either. I just didn't get it. There was always a crack between me and it and lo slid there, or at least it made her lean a certain way. And yet I bought another one to try again with lo2. I don't understand why bf pillows are not made thicker. If I sit up straight I'll definitely need another pillow under it, which I find annoying given how much that pillow costs. (eta, not that it mattered much, I switched to pumping within a week and then ff'ing maybe a month later.)
We also didn't really get much use out of the nosefrida. My dd shook away from it violently. But she was almost a year old when she got her first cold so maybe that's why.

E hated the swing, bouncy seat, and being worn. He also had little interest in Sophie.

I didn't like my Brest friend. I found the way it went all the way around my body uncomfortable and fussy. I just propped a regular pillow under my arm in the end.

Sleep sheep - lo hated all the sounds.
Swing - I swear it made her motion sick! (Glad it was borrowed!)

Sleep sheep for sure. Ended up getting a Mybaby sound machine that's continuous. Swing did nothing for E. Another Boppy hater here. I never replaced ours when it got damaged for J.
My kids are RNP and swaddle fans though. J doesn't like pacifiers at almost 4 months, but E loved his.

LO hated the swing and Mamaroo. And never took to Sophie the Giraffe either.

This is all really going to depend on your baby. A lot of the things mentioned on this thread have been lifesavers for us. For what it's worth, here's my list:
-Brest friend pillow; I used it a lot for a few weeks but I don't think it's the greatest design.
-Anything newborn-size with snaps. Those early days should be zippers-only, or at least be side-snap so you don't have to pull over LO's head.
-Bumbo, we got this secondhand and it just looks like LO feels really awkward in it, she does much better practicing sitting on her own.
-Halo sleep sacks, we greatly preferred Miracle Blankets and velcro swaddles.
-Wubbanub is adorable but it doesn't stay in her mouth so we don't use it much.
-Sleep sheep would be wonderful if it could stay on. Shutting off after 15 minutes is awful.
-Ergo. We switched for a Lillebaby and we're much happier with it.
-Pack n Play. Got this secondhand and it mostly serves as a holding pen for toys and blankets. We just put LO down on a blanket on the floor to play. But I imagine that will change when she is mobile.
Lastly I wouldn't completely say that we didn't care for it, but we could have skipped the infant carseat and gone straight to convertible. The whole idea that LO is supposed to fall asleep in the car and remain asleep after you arrive at your destination has never occurred for us. I hate lugging her around in it (mainly from the living room to the garage) and I much prefer just carrying her into the car and buckling her into the carseat in there. Fortunately we got ours on loan from a friend.

Swaddles -- DD hated them so they got used maybe two times each. The A&A swaddle blankets have gotten a lot of use, though, just not for swaddling.
RnP -- never bought one
Swing -- never bought one of those either
Boppy -- didn't work for me, for the reasons already mentioned. I liked the MBF at first, then just used a small throw pillow once we got the hang of things and she wasn't nursing 23 hours a day.
NoseFrida -- I got horribly ill each time I used it. I don't care what they say, it doesn't trap germs, it sends them straight down deep into your lungs
DD did love the bouncy seat, though, it was a lifesaver for us.

My son is a weirdo and didn't care for pacis, Wubbanubs, Sophie, any teething object, RNP, bouncer, and could not deal with swaddling after 3 months. And he didn't really enjoy being worn and just ran super hot. Basically everything they tell you a colicky reflux baby loves or needs we got and he didn't care for any of it. He liked being sprawled out in his crib by himself in a cold dark room and still does!

A&A swaddle blankets - everybody raves about them but we got a bunch and I hate them.
pear / 1930 posts
Another vote for Boppy. OH uses it as a neck pillow whenever C decides she only wants to sleep in thr RNP in the family room- so I guess it isn't totally wasted.
Muslin swaddle blankets. Lightweight flannel ones are way cheaper and not horribly heavier weight.

@PawPrints: we used a capsule for our big girl but didn't bother with our second baby, it was just as easy to wrap him when we got him out of the car!
persimmon / 1114 posts
@Ms. RV: ha! We use the boppy for the same thing! It has helped us through many sleepless nights on the floor, so I guess not a total waste.
My son did not like pacifiers, Sophie, the swing or baby carrying.

@gingerbebe: My DD likes that too dark room, her crib and she HATED being swaddled
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
My LOs hated swaddles. With my second, she would wake herself up battling the swaddle and I spent a fortune on problem-solver swaddled like the Woombie (with pink ruffles- so cute) and the A&A Easy Swaddle. They pissed her off worse!
I am surprised at the Boppy Bashing! I have used mine SO MUCH! I'm using it now!!! That's probably my top baby item:)

Boppy and the swaddle blankets with the Velcro. I thought both of these things would be necessities and I didn't use either/any of them. Waste of money AND I have two boppy's!!

Velcro swaddled blankets - I wish she would've liked them but my dd hates being swaddled!
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
Loved: RnP, my brest friend pillow, Velcro swaddled, sleep sacks, swing
Not helpful: pack and play, boppy, A&A blankets (but I love their burp cloths/bibs!) bumbo, oh and the many wraps and carriers I bought trying to convince LO it was great to be worn. Nope.

Sophie, Angel Dear monitor, and an infant bathtub. We were gifted the first two and never bothered to buy the tub. Thank goodness, because she showered with us from two weeks old. Also, cloth diapers. We used them for a little bit, but they were such a PITA.
On the other hand, I thought sleep sheep, wubbanubs, and the Moby were overhyped, and we ended up loving them. Who knew?

Boppy (when nursing) I do use it now that she's working on sitting, but I could totally have went without it it.
I also bought a ring sling but I just don't feel secure with her wearing it and wear the Baby Bjorn instead.

@SweetiePie: haha naturally he liked what you didn't have! I'm prepared for that / just joined Amazon prime haha

The baby seat. I was warned that a lot of babies don't fit in the bumbo, so I got a Prince Lionheart seat. Used it probably twice. I just didn't get it.

@Mae: LOL! I always wondered how the boppy worked on some people. My SIL has this huge boomerang for nursing. I used it to feed my nephew, THAT is what I'll be asking for!

@simplyfelicity: I liked my brestfriend so much better! there is a strap that straps it to your waist and it's super sturdy.
RnP - The one product that so many swear by; DD slept in it maybe for the first few weeks? Then hated it!
Soothies - DD was also not into the most popular kind. Eventually she took to MAMs
Sleep sheep - Not loud enough, at all
Fancy swaddles - When the regular fleece velcro ones that were hand me downs worked just fine!
Thank God most of these things I was given!

@simplyfelicity: Look into Connecta's! They sell a solar weave version which is made out of like swim trunk material. My local babywearing group loved using them during the summer
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@SweetiePie: I totally agree! DD didn't/doesn't even sleep in her bed, but it was another place I was able to plop her down when I need to do stuff and she would just look at the projection/spinning toys!
watermelon / 14467 posts
Swaddles never worked for us. I also hated the Bumbo and all chairs like it. The Moses basket was a waste for us because H hated it and we ended up co-sleeping because she wouldn't sleep in the basket.
pomelo / 5628 posts
@PurplePeony: I was surprised it took so long for someone to say Nosefrida. I think it's disgusting and honestly I could suck hard enough to make it work. The hospital bulb suckers are the best!
My dog likes Sophie more than LO did. But I did love the Boppy. (And Rock N Play)
nectarine / 2086 posts
Agree about the boppy! Much prefer the Brest Friend. We also haven't used our miracle blanket much yet. I just use regular swaddle blankets. Also never bought scratch mittens. And she basically is naked except for outings since she is a newborn in August!

@catlady: same for sophie! We never, ever had or talked about wubanubs, yet somehow my son ended up naming his soother a wubwub. I have no idea why he chose that name or where it came from, but he's never see a wubanub in his life.

dislike: boppy for breastfeeding.. I do like it for a baby donut chair though, bumbo.. if you have thunder thigh babies like I do this does not work at all
like: RnP, as this is the only place he will sleep that isn't on me!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Boppy. My son is still nursing at 9m old and I've used the bop maybe 5x. I'm really petite and my kids are small and I didn't use with either kid. Very meh on the bumbo and Sophie, too.

Sleep sheep. Would LOVE it if it could go continuously. Why does it shut off after 45 min?? The newborn sleep cycle? Gah. Had to Amazon prime a backup sound machine. Though still like the ocean noise on the sleep sheep better. Too bad.
