The boppy. Not a fan. I feel like it doesn't stay in place...maybe because my pp body propels it forward like a rubberband.
What about you? What must have product sucks?

My son didn't really like bouncers! The bumbo didn't work for us either!

Boppy for me too! I liked using regular pillows better. Couldn't get comfortable with the boppy

Hated the boppy pillow. Baby just slid off and ruined the latch. I switched to the breast friend pillow but man.. I want my money back for the boppy.

I've never liked the Boppy for nursing. I felt like she always fell into the gap between the Boppy and my stomach. The Brest Friend was so much better.
The swing was useless for us. C tolerated it maybe five times, fell asleep in it literally once. Luckily it was a hand me down. Not sure if I should even bring it out for baby 2.

Way in the minority here, but any and all baby carriers. I just don't like baby wearing at all. Both of my kids were springtime babies and I find it too hot to have a baby on me all the time.

Another one for the boppy! LO also isn't a huge fan of the swing but seems to enjoy the mamaroo so far. We bought it used so it won't be a huge loss if he hates it.

@meredithNYC: I have an Ergo and a Moby and have used neither. It's way too hot to babywear around here in late spring, summer or early fall
pomegranate / 3314 posts
@simplyfelicity: Yeah, man. With my first I felt like some kind of mom-failure weirdo since everywhere I looked people were happily wearing their babies. But once I had my second kid I decided I have to do me and stop worrying about it so much.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@simplyfelicity: @meredithNYC: I always wanted to baby wear but was totally not interested in the moby, but had a borrowed one anyway. My kid freaking loved it, even though it was so so hot in it in August. Kids are so weird.

Rock and play. I don't get the fuss at all, and neither did my girls, apparently.

Sophie the giraffe and wubanubs. I loved the look of them but LO was never interested. The boppy was also just meh for me.
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
Neither one of my big babies fit in the bumbo. Luckily I had bought it used and resold so I wasn't out much for trying it.

boppy didn't work for me at all. How skinny do you have to be to fit inside one of those sorts of things?! (spoiler: significantly skinnier than me).
Also the rock n play. Totally didn't get it. Seems like an awful lot of work to sit there and rock the baby when I can just stick her in a motorized swing.
Never used scratch mittens. Didn't even buy any.
Never really kept a hat on her after the hospital. She was born in May and I just was never one to feel like she was cold.

Moby the first time, but ds2 in wearing more I'm a mamanrou wrap that's similar.
Ds1 lived in the swing, ds2 dislikes it most days. Go figure!

The Bumpo. My cousin raved about it and insisted I put it on my registry, and then my LO was such a chunky monkey that he never fit into it when the time came!
pomegranate / 3604 posts
Most of them. Boppy, baby bath, scratch mitts, hats (although I had 2 August babies sooo), rnp, playpen, swaddling stuff....I'm sure there's more but that's off the top of my head.

Bouncy seats and mobiles & crib soothers/toys.
I like the boppy but I use 2 since I have a really long torso. I would have no use for 1.
nectarine / 2173 posts
I was really excited about the Bumbo but it's use was extremely short lived and now I wish I would have just bought a high chair to start and skipped it.
nectarine / 2973 posts
I couldn't have lived without my boppy! I used it every single day for 20 months! Now my 2.5 year old uses it as a pillow in her crib lol
I hated the diaper genie. Why would I want a trashcan full of dirty diapers just sitting there? We just throw them in our regular trash and take it out once a day.

Wraps/ring sling, swaddles, he hated being confined.
Also bouncer & mobile, did nothing for him.

@meredithNYC: I'm with you on the carriers....I wanted to like them so badly and have two but don't care for them.
pomelo / 5084 posts
@simplyfelicity: Still l pregnant but I don't like mobiles. They seem almost mandatory but just freak me out. DS will not have one!

I haven't used my Brest Friend nursing pillow much - I have preferred no pillow at all for the most part! I also am iffy on baby-wearing. She tolerates being worn when we are outside/in public but I am actually selling my Boba to a friend... like many have said, when it's hot out we both get super sweaty! I may try an Ergo 360 to see if she prefers facing out.
GOLD / wonderful pomegranate / 28905 posts
I love the boppy for both! Dd1 hated the swing but dd2 loves it. Dd1 hated baby wearing but dd2 didn't mind it and it's been a lifesaver.

Liked the boppy. Hated sleep sacks. We tried them for a max of two months.

Sophie and swaddle devices. Neither of my girls cared for swaddling and Sophie sits unused.
nectarine / 2148 posts
Definitely the bouncer. Also semi the rnp. DS liked it for a month then was over it. I loved it, just wish he did too
blogger / honeydew / 7081 posts
We wouldn't have bought an RnP - it was given to us. Used it briefly for the first little bit, but once we got a swing, we never used it again.
persimmon / 1005 posts
The boppy. It seems so pointless and cumbersome! The rock and play is kind of a dud for us too, the baby is totally bored in it if he's awake and I don't need it as a sleeping place.

Sorry, thread jacking!
@wrkbrk: fwiw, I was also convinced Id never have a mobile, didn't register for one, thought they were dumb, etc. By 6 weeks I was desperate and it was a LIFESAVER. He would wake up and lay and look at the mobile for an hour every morning. That is an EXTRA HOUR IN BED FOR MEEEEE! Or I would plop him in the crib and turn on the mobile so I could shower, get his bath ready, etc. He was obsessed with it.
My purpose is NOT to convince you to get a mobile. Haha! Just letting you know that if it's not the mobile, there will be something else you thought was unnecessary that you'll end up buying
My other big one was a rock n play! I thought it was another item to hog space and it ended up being a staple in our house from 6 weeks to about 6/7 months!

Any and all swaddles! DD hated them. She was a different baby when we switched to the Merlin suit.

So many Boppy haters! I love both the Boppy and Brest Friend equally! I think I'm the only one!
I don't care for the Wubbanub. They don't stay in his mouth nearly as well as the (free!) pacifiers I took home from the hospital.
persimmon / 1179 posts
Bumbo- my LO could pop himself out of it already the first time we even used it so it didn't get used.
Swaddled me things (with Velcro)- I never felt like these were the right size and I prefer to just swaddle with a blanket. I can do it better with literally any blanket of any size. I thought those things are built for dummies haha.
