And the other way around? DH liked the name Myron, but I wasn't a fan. I love the Rosalie (a twist to my middle name) and he didn't like that. What about you?

I kinda like Gretchen and DH said "REALLY?.... seriously babe?.. =/"
Don't think there's anything that I love love though that DH hasn't atleast "liked" or considered.

Virignia, Sawyer and Stella all got the veto. I loved all three of them. Charlie and Elliott were my top 2 boy names before we found out the gender and DH hated them too.
His only pick for a name? Angelo. Hells to the no.

For a boy I love Noah. DH says "NO" - ah. Oh well... we're having a girl, so no harm done.

My husband and I actually have very different taste in names. He likes very "regular" names, especially for boys (like James, Michael, etc.) and I like more unusual ones. Off the top of my head, I know I've brought up Hadley, Holden, Wyatt and Faulkner and they all got vetoed. I also loved Noah but my husband thought it was too biblical. I was still working him down, but his cousin just had a Noah though so that took care of that.

@twodoghouse: same here! my husband and I have completely different tastes for names.
I like really unique, he likes more traditional.
I love amelia, zoe, sadie, lenore, aurora. He hates them.
I haven't thought much about boy names.

I've always liked Peter for a boy's name but DH really doesn't. I also like Anthony or Antonio but hubby works with a "Tony" he doesn't like so that name is out too.
We are in agreement about a few names though, thank goodness!

Ugh, so many names I wouldn't even start to list them all. I had a list of 70 names (both genders combined) that I liked and collected over the years. He immediately vetoed all but about 10 of them

I love Ezra for a boy. LOVE.. and my fiance hates it. I mentioned it to my mom and she made a weird face. When I asked her what that was about she just said, "It isn't very manly, is it?"
I, for one, think it is very masculine.

There are so many names that I love that my husband hates. Off the top of my head I can think of Willow, Vivian, William, and Ezra. There have been a lot more. We have never agreed on any name. It gets a little frustrating.

@Rosie Girl: I've been wondering if 'rosie girl ' is for you or your little girl because I have a little girl named Rose. Hence the avitar. I love the name Rosalie, but I guess I'm biased.
I've always loved Sadie but my hubby poo poo's that right away. It was for the best though, my little girl is definitely a Rose.

Nirvana. I love the name (not just because of the band) but because DH HAAAATES the band, he's currently refusing, but I'm wearing him down!
@tana_bk: I also love love love the name willow, haven't mentioned that one to DH yet...

@artbee: Originally it was just for me, until I got pregnant My middle name is Rose, and our DD's middle name will be Rose also. Its a beautiful name

@blushink: I know right! That isn't where I got the name, I have loved it forever, but he is a great example of a MAN named Ezra.

Adelaide. No matter how many times I bring it up, he shoots it down every time.

Hannah and Leah got a big thumbs down from Mr. McB.
Also we continue to go back and forth about Henry. One day he likes it, the next time we talk about it he hates it again >_<

I love Evelyn and Vivian-- DH isn't a fan. He likes Emma, which is way too popular, so I vetoed it.
persimmon / 1202 posts
Lily and Rebecca got vetoed. William too. I vetoed Roland, though, unless it's as a middle name.

I liked eleanor and amelia. :T all the names I liked hubs vetoed. The only name we agree'd on was the name we decided on!

The only 2 boy names we can agree on are Nathan and Jonah. Every other suggestion I've had he's not too fond of (Owen, Evan, Blake). Thankfully, we've got our girl names picked out already.

We really struggled with boy names! For girls, we were pretty much in agreement and only struggled with narrowing our choices down to two girls names. For boys names, our conversation went something like this:
Me: How about ______?
DH: No way. How about ______?
Me: Not a chance. How about ______?
DH: Nope. How about ______?
And so on...... we finally found two that we like so we've got two boys names and two girls names and I don't really see us changing from either of those names.
As for my personal favourites that he didn't like - Noah, Oliver, Hamish (pronounced Hay-mish, but I know no one in America would ever pronounce it correctly so I was ok with it being nixed), and Jaime (James).

@Rosie Girl: I actually love the name Rosalie! His grandmother (who basically raised him, but passed away a few years ago) was named Rose, so he really wants to honor her. My middle name pre-marriage was Leigh, so I thought combining the two would be perfect -- but he vetoed it... BOO!
I love, love the name Milo for a little boy. He can't get over Milo and Otis.

@thatwife: i seriously love the name adelaide. unfortunately, my husband's not a fan either.

Jack. That could have to do with the fact that a. It's popular and b. er...my name is Jill. He also shoots down any family names from my side that I bring up.

@rosie girl: my LO's middle name is Rosalee... in the beginning he wasn't too into it, but when she got here thats the name we picked! Her middle name was more important to me than DH so he let me pick.
We agreed right away on names... but we both have the same taste in just about everything so it works!

I love Oliver but DH is not on board. No matter how many times I repeat it in a perky tone of voice.

I love Elliot for a boy and Charlotte for a girl. My husband made a face a both but I love Charlotte so much that I was going to do all in my means to brainwash him... until I heard my mother and aunts, in their heavy Chinese accents, go "Shallot?"

Hubs has shot down EVERY girl name I've suggested! For real. We have a boy name that we 100% agree on, so that counts for something (I hope!).
