I honestly can't remember what they offered me for pain after labor. I know one was Vicodin or something like it and the other one was a strong dose of Tylenol. I took the narcotic first and started hallucinating. I took a nap to get through that and decided not to take that one anymore.
What were you offered for pain after labor?

They gave me percoset. It made me really loopy and kind of groggy so I wasn't a big fan of taking it. Then I would be doubled over in pain when it wore off and take another one. It sucked.

I don't know what they would have offered as every time they asked if I would like some pain meds, I said no as I truly wasn't in pain either time! ETA: they never specified what meds it would be - they just said 'would you like anything for pain management?'
The second time though, I did start taking Advil at home a day or two later once the PP nursing cramps set in. This time, if they have anything stronger, I will be taking it as I've heard those cramps get worse with each baby!

Motrin and Tylenol. I would have appreciated something just a bit stronger for the first few days.

Vicodin and Advil. I took the Vicodin for quite a while bc I fractured my tailbone, so sitting down to nurse was excruciating.

Tylenol with codine, extra strength ibuprofen, and something else that was more mild. I mostly stuck with the ibuprofen, the nursing cramps were killer!

Motrin, but I had an rx for vicodin. Didn't need it with the first. Wish so much I had filled it for the second- those uterine cramps 3-4 days after birth had me crying in pain. They were legit worse than labor.

I was kept on an epidural for about 6 hrs post-delivery, and I think a souped up Tylenol up after that.

Tylenol with codeine and a super extra strength ibuprofen. After my first I only took a few tylenols and never filled my prescription for ibuprofen after I got home. I didn't realize the cramps are so much worse the second time around! One time they refused to give me a dose because they said I had just had some (they wrote it down on my chart wrong.) That sucked!!

I think just a prescription for extra strength Motrin or Tylenol (can't remember exactly). I don't think I filled it for LO1 but I think I did for LO2. Those days are seriously a blur!

Just ibuprofen here.
I wasn't in excessive pain after delivery. Like, my lady bits were tender, but not something I would have taken pain medications for. What were you specifically taking (or offered) narcotic pain medication for?

Tylenol 3 for pain and Motrin for inflammation. I was very lucky and never in pain so I just took the Motrin.

Norco and Motrin were the prescriptions they sent me home with after my C-section. Still taking the Motrin at 5 weeks post partum. I don't remember what they have me after my first birth, which was vaginal. I was not in nearly as much pain.

Percocet I think. I used it for a good two weeks because one of my butt bones hurt so bad! Still can't sit right.

Bad reaction to Percocet so Norco (Vicodin) and Motrin. Worked great, was on Motrin alone after a week.

LO1 Ibuprofen and Norco while in the hospital, Ibuprofen for home. LO2 Tylenol and Ibuprofen.

Tramadol, Voltaren and paracetamol. I stopped taking the tramadol after a day because it makes me feel a bit dopey.

They offered Motrin when I mentioned the nursing cramps, but I had them bring me a heating pad instead. I don't know what stronger meds they would have given if I needed them, but my OB gave me an Rx for Percocet.

Percocet if I wanted it but I never needed it. I did take a couple high doses of tylenol.

Percocet which was f*cking awesome, and alternating Tylenol and Ibuprofen at max doses. Oh and immediately after birth they asked if I wanted drugs during my repair and I was like oh god yes, so they sent something lovely down my IV that made me stop mentally cursing the OB with the needle and thread for at least 60 seconds.

I don't think anything? Or maybe I was so out of it I just don't remember. I would have turned down a narcotic only because narcotic pain meds make me vomit.

Motrin, Vicodin and Toradol. I mostly took the Toradol alternated with Vicodin.

Only ibuprofen. And then I had an allergic reaction to it and had to switch to Tylenol. Honestly I needed something stronger given all of the stitches

Oh my word, the after pain cramps after my second were awful. I was doubled over on my couch a good 3-4 days after delivery - so much worse than labor, I agree @lemondrop: !
It's one of the things I'm most terrified about with future kids since they supposedly get worse after each delivery.
