For neutrals, I like a light gray. I agree that Navajo White seems a little yellow.

Our living room is a very strange color (dark purple), but our hallway, entryway, and kitchen are all a light gray, which I love. It feels bright and modern.

Our main living area is SW Chopsticks, which is a warm tan color

I found a greige-ish colour I love and we have used it EEEEEEEEVERYWHERE now. (master, guest bed, kitchen, living room...) i'm obsessed. haha. It's by Dulux and it's called Kitten White. I think the name for it is awful because it really is a true greige... it definitely changes in different lights but i like it in all of em!

I agree - not a fan of that color. We have revere pewter throughout our house - it's a greige, and I'm obsessed!

@coopsmama: we joke about Navajo White at work (I design/build high end homes). It's builder beige. It's OK in one room, but throughout a whole house it would not be my first pick.

For a non-offensive not blue, not brown - grey we often use BM Barren Plain. In some houses we'll use Abalone, but it can go mauve in the wrong light.

Following because we are buying a house soon and I'm loving all of these gray-beige colors here!

PS. Revere Pewter is my dream color, but we didn't use it in our last house because we relocated across the country before we had a chance to paint. So I don't actually know what its like to live with it, so I'm afraid to recommend it!

I have Behr "Moon Rise" in my main living areas (which is a similar creamy, not quite yellow color)

If you're painting it for resale, does it really matter if you don't love it?

We put Behr Parisian Beige on our kitchen walls when we redid our kitchen. It's more on the pinkish side of beige than yellow, green, or blue... but I love it. But we did it because our cabinets are a pretty dark cream color with brown touches, and our counters and hardware are black, so I needed a beige to make the cabinets look as white and stark as possible.

I believe we have Sterling from BM in our main living areas, then a shade darker, Pelican Gray in rooms.

Yes, I think that is our exact granite color. Looks great with gray walls!

Mine is very different, but our living room and hallway is painted BM Palladian Blue. It's kind of ethereal but looks grey-blue in certain lights.

I think that's a lot like the color we have (ben moore standish white, which is really yellow) and I am not a fan. The first thing I did was to repaint it. Color is such a personal thing, that I think many people paint anyways to customize. But definitely less yellow and more grey if looking for a modern look. But not too cold and grey, a warm browner grey imo.

I always chime in on these posts to say paint it WHITE! I loooove white walls. I love how crisp and immediately clean they make a place feel. I also like that white doesn't turn funky colors depending on the light. Our current apartment is all bright white. But our last one was similar to the Navajo white. I always felt like our place looked murky later in the day or on cloudy dreary days.
