My next midwife appointment we are practicing several positions for labour, to bring baby down - and birthing.
With my first baby I tried a few different positions but ended up on my back.
How did you end up getting your LO(s) out?

I labored in all sorts of positions but was on my back for a vacuum in the end. Hands and knees worked well for pushing but hurt so bad that I could t do it for long.

Back for my first and on my knees draped over the bed for my second. I found the positioning with my second to be easier.

I tried a couple - on all fours in the hospital bed, and then sitting on the bed with the squat bar, also I think I like pulled on a towel for a bit? Idk I hated everything except being on my side. So that's what I did for 2 hours. I liked it bc it was so easy to pass out and rest in between contractions, but my pelvis had more room to expand.

Back both times, but I spent a while kneeling/leaning over the back of the bed with M. My pushes just weren't as effective

Sort of half back, half side. My left leg was propped/braced by a nurse, and my right was down braced on some part of the bed. I wanted to get up, but they had to have monitors on and they kept slipping. I suspect now they had concerns about me moving around as much as I was bleeding as well.

On hands and knees in my living room. I labored in that position and a squat on the toilet. Fun times.

Actual birth I was on my back. I tried pushing in a few other positions and it just didn't feel right.
But during labor I spent a lot of it on my knees draped over the back of the bed. Or in the bath tub.

@Foodnerd81: Yeah, I spent a lot of time draped over the back of the bed as well.

On my back, but not flat, I was very reclined almost to a sitting position with my butt right at the edge. I had terrible back labor and even as he was crowning I couldn't be truly on my back.

I labored in every position imaginable but gave birth on my back on an incline bed. I used the squat bar for a few pushes but had a light epidural and didn't have full strength in my legs.

On my back, strapped to an OR table! Not many options with the C-section.

I labored down sitting up and then delivered on my back in a reclining position.

On my back! I had grand plans for other positions, and I did squat in the tub a lot before I pushed. But I had such bad back labor (and was SO, SO tired--my water broke at midnight so I obviously didn't sleep) that I couldn't really handle anything other than laying down when I was pushing.

On my knees, draped over the side of the birthing pool. The pain was so intense at the end that just burying my head in the side of the pool was good. Some nurse kept trying to drape a towel between my head and the plastic side and I eventually just told her to knock it off.
My daughter was born en caul, and by the time I'd flipped over she was out of the bag and I didn't get to see it. I really regret that part - if I'd known I would have tried to turn earlier.

on my back. Tried a few different positions with my first, but back was most comfortable. ( Like others, on my back with head of bed raised)

On my back. The midwife and nurses kept encouraging me to try other positions. The one time I did, baby's heart rate dropped. I knew what I needed to do.

On my right side. It felt better for laboring and seemed to be the best angle for the actual birth.

On my back. I think I was holding my own leg back at the moment I pushed her out.

I did a tonne of deep squats while in labour and delivered Felix standing up.

lo1: On side
lo2: On my knees draped over the end of the bed (the front of the bed was raised) So I was basically kneeling.

LO 1: back for labor and delivery.
LO 2: labored while driving myself home from work, then mainly on my hands and knees in the back of the car while DH drove to the hospital. Arrived just in time to push (on my back).

I labored in all different positions, and I pushed side lying, and on my back. I was getting the most productive pushes while on my back, and that's how I was when LO was born!
