Maybe I'm just enamored with downton abbey, but the 20's seemed like an exciting time to live. The roaring 20s! Jazz age! I think I'd choose that as the decade to live in. What about you?

I am a total history buff but I'd rather keep my electricity, heat, indoor plumbing and online shopping. Hahaha.

@Mrs. Bee: I feel that way but then I watch Boardwalk Empire and change my mind with the gangsters and bootleggers!
There is something about the 50's that seem so wholesome and less complicated. Might just be my moms perspective though so not really sure!

Probably a decade that doesnt take a lot of time to get dressed and ready. I wanted to say 80's but I dont have the patience to poof up my hair for an hour each day!

I've been binge watching Mad Men, so 1960s for sure, if only for the furniture, haha.

I'd like to live in Regency England but only if I'm rich and titled, lol.

i don't think i would have wanted to live in an earlier decade because interracial marriage wouldn't have been accepted and i don't want to imagine my life with anyone other than mr. bird.

I am glad I grew up in the era I did. I used to fantasize about the 20's-50's. I liked the clothes, the simpler life etc... But I just cannot get over how women were so inferior in all areas of life. DH jokes that if I had grown up 50-70 years ago I would have been a women's rights activist

I think it would have been fun to grow up in the 60s when there was so much change in America. Being rich in the 20s doesn't sound so bad either!

@swedishfish: I've always loved scrappy pioneer stories until I remember indoor plumbing, birth control and modern anesthesia.

I'd enjoy the 50s so my homemaking/ housewife lifestyle wouldn't seem so crazy to people or I'd hop back to around 1870 and live it up pioneer style

1950's for sure! I don't know that I'd be able to sit back and not be an activist though...but I was raised in a very liberal home

@Mrs. Pen: This. Exactly this.
I would love to say 40s/50s, but realistically I would say now because of the women's right isssues. Maybe the 60s, because I would have been a hairy hippie burning my bras.

I like the benefits of modern medicine so I'm good with where I am right now.
