I read the Harry Potter books when they came out, but not the Twilight Saga or the Hunger Games. Or, 50 shades of gray.
What "publishing phenomenon" have you been a part of?

Harry Potter for sure, Twilight and hunger games I didn't read until they had been out more than a year. I feel like I am too old and satisfied to have to read 50 shades of gray.

@anonysquire: ha ha, too old to read 50 shades but not too old. For the Hunger Games and Twilight?

Harry Potter and Hunger Games. I think those are well written, but the others ... not so much.

Most of them! Hp, twilight, hunger games, 50 shades, umm..can't think of anymore! Sookie stackhouse novels (southern vampire mysteries)

@mrbee: On that note, I am way too old for the other books. But I am over it!

Hunger Games, 50 shades of gray, The girl with the dragon tattoo.
I didn't start reading Harry Potter until about 10 years after they came out. I refused to read them when I was in school.

I have read Twilight, Hunger Games, Girl with a Dragon Tattoo, tried 50 but couldn't get past the horrible writing and mistakes!

I'm proud to say, I have not read one of the books listed! I can be kind of anti bandwagon. I did watch the first two Harry potter movies though.

@mrs. bird: you are missing out! I didn't read them to be on a bandwagon... just started reading and couldn't stop!!

Oh, I'm a sucker for Nicholas Sparks books! Although, I was pretty disappointed with the last book, The Best of Me.

Harry Potter, for sure. I've read them all about 5 times each. Also the Hunger Games trilogy - love them. I read one of the Twilight books, but it wasn't my thing, and I feel the same about 50 Shades.

I tend to be stubborn about these things and hold out just because. I did finally read 50 Shades to see if it was as bad as some people say. It was. But it sucked me in anyway. Sad.

HP and hunger games. and, okay, the twilight books, too....

@mrs. bird: I am like you. I refused to read Harry Potter until last year. I made it to the beginning of the 2nd book before I gave up.
I did read Hunger Games--but not when it first came out.
I am a bit of a literature snob since I am a writer, so the bandwagons I jumped on are/were for literary fiction and memoirs.

My sister gave me the first Harry Potter book before they blew up. I was an addict from the start. I read the Hunger Games after like a dozen of my facebook friends recommended them to me. And I read The Girl series after my dad recommended it. It took me a while, though - I started the first one and couldn't get into it, then went back to it about 6 months later and forced myself to give it more of a chance. Ended up loving them. Have not and will not read Twilight or 50 Shades.

Hmm, I started Harry Potter back in the day and stopped after the 4th book. I read the Twilight books (but haven't seen ANY of the movies), The Hunger Games, and 50 Shades...
Sigh.

I read them all: Twilight, Hunger Games, Harry Potter, 50 Shades and you might as well add the Southern Vampire Mysteries (aka Sookie Stackhouse Novels), all the Nicholas Sparks novels to that list.

Twilight (because my girlfriend told me my only objection was that it was popular, so I had to read it to prove her wrong), the first Hunger Games book (book club, not my pick, but I enjoyed it). Also . . . Clan of the Cave Bear. Totally my own doing. I even read the most recent one, which was TERRIBLE!!!
