I nurse Xander on the weekends and he eats six times a day, consistently, 3 hours apart, and sleeps through the night. When I'm at work, I send him to daycare with three 5 oz bottles. I've noticed that they ALWAYS write that he drank all 5 oz for every feeding and that they feed him every 3 hours.
Yesterday, one of the daycare providers told me that Xander is consistently getting hungry ~30 minutes early, and basically asked if they were allowed to feed him earlier. They also mentioned he was spitting up a lot (which is maybe why he was so hungry?).
So... what kinds of questions should I ask them about this? I feel like 5 oz every 3 hours should be enough - I'm not sure why he would be getting hungry early all the time (though maybe it's a growth spurt? He's 4.5 months). Should I ask if he really eats all 5 oz every feeding? Should I ask how long a feeding lasts? Should I ask if they try giving him his pacifier first in case he's not really hungry? I'm not really sure what I should ask, but I feel like something fishy is going on... what do you ladies (and gents!) think?
