So, the hospital bag is all packed and ready to go. Woot! The only thing left to do is purchase and pack some snacks. For whatever reason, I am having a hard time deciding what snacks to buy.
Please provide some snack inspiration!

I brought some Luna bars...but my hospital had ample snacks of all sorts so I didn't really need to worry about bringing much of everything.

We brought granola bars, trail mix... And cheese strings. Didn't end up eating any of it.

We brought granola bars, almonds and string cheese. I couldn't eat anything though--even if it had been okayed or snuck even the idea of food made me vomit. DH and my mom ate them, though.

I was boring and just brought some granola bars. But my hospital had a lovely room set up with snacks/drinks and then they even brought around a dessert cart. Score!

I loved the Nature Valley granola squares and coconut water - especially the kind w/ pineapple - during labor. Afterward peanut butter crackers were a lifesaver.

We just brought chips and stuff dh likes for him...and since I was in labor mostly at home and then through the night at the hospital, almost none of it was eaten!

granola bars and Gatorade. Our hospital has food places all around it so my husband just kept going every breakfast and dinnertime and getting me something different. But at night, when nursing, I really needed Gatorade and granola!

Clif bars, trail mix, homemade biscotti and lactation cookies. I ate ALL of it in postpartum/recovery bc I was starving. The only thing I ate during labor were butterscotch hard candies since my throat hurt from so much moaning/screaming.

real fruit popsicles. It's a NEED. Seriously. They were so great to eat during early labor because I was so hot, it was nice to suck on something cool.
in addition I brought granola and yogurt, trail mixes and fruit

They offered popsicles at my hospital!
I took a jar of peanut butter (bring a spoon! i forgot, lol), an apple (which i ate together right before i got pitocin, so it was my last meal!), a box of granola bars, some real fruit leathers, and a box of pretzel sticks to dunk into the pb. I also took some coconut water.

I remember we took apples and granola bars. I think we only ate the apples. It was nice having some fresh fruit to eat. I think next time, I'll bring chocolate for myself for afterwards, but I'm a chocoholic.

I packed and didn't need it, our hosptial had an amazing hospitality room that had way better snacks than I had available! Next time I will not be bringing my own, so maybe check with your hospital!

I didn't pack any and was okay with just meals the hospital provided.

Granola bars. It was nice when I was super hungry and didn't want to wait until they brought me something.... Like after giving birth.

Well I bought some candy bars, like twix and m&m's, for a treat but I already snuck into my hospital bag stash and ate them.......soooo it hasn't worked for me. I'm restocking with granola bars and will send DH for some goodies. Lol

Granola bars, Gatorade, almonds and some dried fruit. Also, Jolly Ranchers! We ate a little of everything! I was starving after labor, and snacked all through the night.

I think I cursed myself by packing my bags so early because they have been sitting up there for a month now but I got some Lara Bars, mini trail mix bags, dried fruit and my DH made some jerky last week that we are saving. I'm going to throw in whatever fresh fruit we have in the house before we leave. For him I also packed plantain chips because he loves them. And about $40 in cash for food runs!

@jh524: haha, that's why I haven't packed any snacks. I would've eaten them all already.

Cliff bars, granola bars, Cheese-it's. DH ate a cliff bar during labor and then we forgot that we had stuff the rest of the time

The thought of food was revolting while I was in labor even though I was starving! However, I wished I had packed more than just a few Clif bars because after my baby was born I was constantly hungry (especially at night when no meals were being brought!).

I packed chocolate, cereal bars, dried fruit and nuts. I wanted exactly none of it!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
We just packed granola bars and water. I'm definitely glad I brought the water, but we didn't eat any of the granola bars. Our hospital delivered breakfast, lunch, and dinner to our room, so we never needed our snacks.

We had bananas, granola bars, potato chips, and M&Ms. My husband ate most of everything while I was in labor. The rest were great during middle of the night nursing sessions.

Cliff bars and juice boxes. DH ate all of the Cliff bars over our five days in the hospital, and drank some of the juice during labor (when the nurse wasn't looking...).
