I'm starting to get really excited about Harper being around for Christmas and New Year's! I want to get her an ornament for her 1st Christmas, and I just got in her personalized stocking that matches Dh's, mine, and the dog's (lol)...
What special things do you do for the holidays to make it "extra special" for your LO? Do you make something for them, or have a tradition you partake in each year?

We're doing the ornament and the stocking too! I'm going to make all of our stockings out of vintage red and white chenille.
I'm also flying home to the states with her. My mom and I will sit her with us while we bake cookies. My mom and I have made cookies together every single year since I was born. She used to sit me on the counter while she scooped them out. I don't even remember not doing it. It's like our special little holiday thing we always did together, now we get to do it with C too.

We're Jewish. Chanukah isn't a huge holiday for us, but we still do celebrate. I think my only tradition for LO is that I want to have some sort of Jewish/Chanukah/Judaica gift for her every year to build up her collection. This year I've gotten her a Chanukah book and puzzle.
We also have traditions that my family has done throughout the years, like eating latkes, playing dreidel, decorating cookies shaped like menorahs and dreidels, and going to a family friend's house for a gift exchange.

@PrincessBaby: love the stockings! We still don't have stockings because we wanted our LO's to match so now I'll need to find some.
We lay out their shoes the night before st.nicks day (eve of Dec. 6th) no one does this! I think it's just a German thing? Anyway, we fill their shoes with little gifts. DS was so excited about his last year and this will be DD's first year. My parents did it growing up and it made me excited for Christmas to come. Also, I get an ornament every year for DS and plan to do the same for DD.
