What advice were you given (good or bad) that stuck with you?

One that stuck with me, and it is pretty obvious and very simple, is to NEVER turn away from the baby even for 2 seconds, because they can fall/roll over/eat something....
So, now, whenever, I leave LO, I always hear my mom's voice: "never..."
I always strap him in a seat before walking out of the room.
The one time I didn't, I came back and he had rolled over to a tissue box and was eating a tissue. Big time choking hazard, right there! And I was only gone 2 mins to pour coffee.
