Last night at dinner, my daughter climbed up onto my lap, gave me a big hug and whispered, "Mommy, I just love you and Daddy SO much." Awwww. What has your kid said recently that just made your heart melt?

@mediagirl: I might bawl on the stop when DD does that!
DD is only 14 mo so she can't say I love you... But when I get home from work, she's waiting by the gate, and she has this huge smile and when she squeals MAMA and then runs into my arms, it's the best best best feeling!

This actually made me stop and think about what my kids hear from me...I was complaining in the car to DH about how I feel gross and unfit and like I gained weight recently, and LO turns to me and says, "mommy, we all love you.".
No more negative self- talk in front of the kids!

@winniebee: oh my goodness! That takes the cake! Heartbreaker!
I just got home from a weeklong business trip and missed LO's bedtime the night I got home. In the morning, he came into our room (which he just figured out how to do), screamed "Mommy! I love you so much and I missed you because we're family." That made the whole trip worth it

Aww! Last night after work I had to take DD to the Ped. I still had my work badge on with the worst pic ever of me. She was sitting in my lap looking at it and goes ohhhh cute mama! I was like what's cute? She goes mama cute!!
I was also tying on maternity clothes the other day and she was deep into her episode of Mickey on my phone. I was internally getting really frustrated that everything looked like crap on me, when she looks up and says cute mama! I totally bought those pants!

LO and I were playing a pretend game, running away from a ball that was coming to get us (don't ask, haha!) and I said "I'm so scared!" And he said "don't worry mommy, I'll protect you!" Omg my melting heart.

My husband and B were reading Peppa Pig and the I Love You Game and he said "Bennett, who do you love?" and he said "I love Mommy." For the first time, on Valentine's Day! (Trying to get one for himself my husband said "Do you love anything else?" and B said "um, raccoon. And Daddy Pig." Ha!)

I just got new frames for my glasses and she keeps pointing to my face and saying, "glasses pretty mama" and she had this new thing of grabbing my face on both sides and giving me tons of kisses on my lips.

@Ra: Gah, same! The night before my induction, he was sitting on my lap while I was reading to him at bedtime. He shushed me, put his hands on my face, and whispered, "Mommy, you're my best friend." I barely made it through putting him to bed, walked out of the room, and burst into tears.

My LO doesn't really talk yet, but we are working on individual words. Sometimes I ask LO to say hard things just to see what happens. The other day I said "Can you say 'I love you'?" and she looked at me then gave me a hug and a kiss. Nailed it kiddo.

LO isn't talking much yet, but he always wants me to sit with him on the floor in the mornings. This morning I was sitting there with him when he walked over and gave me two big kisses and then sat in my lap. I often feel badly that my mornings are not more productive with housework etc., but not today!
