This is a follow up from my earlier post about bla bla dolls. Many people voted that they were too expensive but I see them on amazon for about$24 with free shipping. Is that still considered overpriced to you?

I think if I really loved the doll and it was great quality, I would be willing to spend up to $50.

@Mrsbells: i was just looking on Amazon and the only Bla Bla dolls I saw for $24 were two boy ones. The rest were $50!

I wouldnt buy a stuffed fabric doll for more than about $20. A real, nice doll (like American Girl) more.

For a soft doll, not much. But for a doll like an American Girl doll, then obviously...that price.

I voted $51 or more. I just spent over $100 on the Molly American Girl doll over the weekend because they're retiring her!

I think $24 is okay, but I don't think that's the average price for a Bla Bla doll, don't they normally start at $44?

It depends on the doll. I would buy a blabla doll full retail and if I have a girl she will likely have an American Girl doll. The AG doll plus outfits and accessories will be $250 easily.

I would be unlikely to spend any real money on a toy, honestly. We already have plenty, we're constantly getting them as gifts/handmedowns, or finding them resale. When my daughter is old enough to ask for specific (expensive) things I imagine she'll be old enough to save up her allowance or do extra chores to make money for them.

Depends on the doll. Probably $50 if it's for a special occasion (chanukah or birthday) and I thought LO would love it.

@lawbee11: Yay!
I would spend a lot on a quality doll. Maybe $30 for a soft doll.

@lawbee11: noo... I hate how they retired all of the old historical dolls.. Boo!

@LaineysMom: @lawbee11: Felicity was always the one I wanted growing up. It makes me sad they dont make any of them anymore.

@plantains: @mrsjazz: Yeah I thought I saw it on amazon for $24 but I realized the one I saw for $24 was a bla bla rattle doll which isnt the same thing.
Wow I did not know the american girl dolls were that expensive

$50 but it would have to be high quality. I don't really like the bla bla dolls so I wouldn't spend that much.

Like @lawbee11: I bought the Molly doll this weekend but for a soft doll I wouldn't spend over $25.

@zippylef: I had Felicity! She was my favorite! I was SO SAD when they stopped making her. I need to dig all my AG dolls out of storage. I really hope DD loves AG dolls.. Or I may be playing with them by myself..

The doll I would like to get DD for her first birthday is $95. It is a soft doll, but it is all handmade and you can customise it

My kids have a few nice stuffed animals that were about $25. That's about my max unless it was something exceptional.

@HLK208: yeah, I don't really get the appeal of BLA BLA dolls tbh.

@Mrsbells: I love the Haba toys we bought for LO. We don't have the soft dolls, but the toys we have from Haba are well-made. I would go for it! They remind me of my Raggedy Ann doll. I did spend $45 or so on one of those for a friend who was having a little girl, but it was handmade.
