I have a birthday party to attend for a friend of a friend I don't know very well.
Help me, Hive! What are your favorite crowd pleased gifts to get someone you don't know very well?

Some things I'm thinking of: yummy candle, bottle of wine, little potted plant/flowers, movie tickets...

Bottle of wine is always a safe bet.

I'd go with wine (or a bottle of something boozy... maybe ask your other friend what she drinks?). I always appreciate it when I'm gifted wine! Haha

Something for around the house, a gift card, a nice bottle of wine. If I know anything about them, I try to make that part of it.

@Crystal: I am terrible at selecting a proper wine because if it's white, I'll drink it... I'm so not picky! I usually buy based on how pretty/fun/fancy the label is, depending on what I'm going for... how bad is that?

My go-to is flowers and sometimes add a bottle of wine. I usually look for the ratings on the shelf tags in the store and pick something +90.

@MrsH: I second the champagne! @Crystal: grab a bottle of Korbel brut...it should be around $20-$22.
