If either DH or I would have had sole responsibility for naming our kid, LO's name would definitely be different. But neither of us liked the other person's top choice(s), so we compromised on something we liked, just not as much. Now it's attached to LO and I can't think of him as anything else.

Luckily we didn't have to go through that last time, we agreed pretty quickly on names. But for baby #2 I know it's going to be harder. We've already discussed names and haven't come up with one yet for a girl. And since we're going team green we have to have a boy and girl name ready. I'm hoping we just suddenly come up with one that we both love.

My friend and her husband had a very hard time deciding on a name. She went into labor with a list of 5 first/middle name combinations and they ended up naming her from that list but not one of the predetermined combos. I remember he texting me a picture right after their daughter was born with the birth stats and a caption saying "name yet to be determined". They finally named her right before leaving the hospital afterthey had some time to meet her. My friend said that it just felt right that way and she would have never been able to agree before hand, so maybe that is an option for you?

(if it makes you feel any better DH and I could only agree on one boy and one girl name so if we have another boy I'm not sure what we will do)
