My daughter will be 2 this summer. I'm going tonight with a free pass to look for shoes. What else should I look for while I'm there?

When my DD turned 2 it was such a hard age to look for things for her.
I got some art supplies she really liked, like her easel. A baby doll stroller and shopping car she uses all the time (although she still isn't too into the baby doll beds).
At that age, getting towards real paper books is good, even books with small words they can start to learn.

@T.H.O.U.: thanks. It does seem like a harder age to buy things other than clothing. I'll look for books on half price day since we already have so many, but that's a good idea.
@MrsH: surprisingly, I think this one is geared more towards summery stuff. The one in July is geared towards Fall/Winter clothes. Not a bad idea, though - we will need a good one next year!

I stock up on clothes and toys that I think she might like that I would probably not want to buy. This way, if she doesn't like it, i've only spent a few bucks
Things like those big plastic toy castles always go super fast and early

I think outdoor toys, slide, ect. would be good at that age in addition to clothes!

@LuLu Mom: ohhhh a SLIDE would be awesome!! I'll have to look for outdoor toys. Good idea!
@blackbird: I know exactly what you are talking about. I'll look for toys like that.

I always make a list of exactly what we need, otherwise I get sidetracked!!
If I were to attend one TODAY, I'd look for:
Swimsuits
Sunhats
Water shoes
booster chair for dining seat
tub toys

@mediagirl: Bring a hamper or something to put clothes in. I have seen tall rolling hampers, hamper with a belt so you can drag on the floor.
I would look for summer clothes and toys like Blackbird said.

@mrs. wagon: Swimsuits is a great suggestion. I forgot that last spring I got her like 10 swimsuits for like $30. I got a variety of sizes that lasted us the whole summer.
Measure the length of the torso with a string or something and cut to length. Then just take the string to the store to check to see if the suits will fit.
Also, for shoes you can make a paper cut out of their foot size to guess if shoes will fit

@mrs. wagon: You reminded me that we bought P some watershoes on clearance the other day...where DID I put them?!
@mediagirl: I would look for shoes, a play kitchen, and beach toys. Maybe small storage furniture if the have it there, too.
