I don't wear button up shirts, so I would probably do a tank tucked in, with an open cardi on top of it. Skinny belt around the skirt for interest.
Or, perhaps a short sleeved mock neck, tucked in?

I would do a blousier top, tucked in, with a fitted pencil skirt--you want to balance out the tight bottom with more volume on top. You can do a "fancier" t shirt, or a silk shell or something.

I think a chambray tucked in would look awesome. To make it less "formal" you could pair it with boots or flats instead of heels.
I would actually probably choose a blouse or shell over a button up and tuck that in, then layer a blazer or cardigan over it- unless the blouse is long sleeved.
