I try to keep it to $20-$25 for the "good" foot brands. I just spent $5 on cute tennis shoes at Old Navy, though!

No more than $25, I like to get her the light Nike flex shoes.

@blackbird: how do you find them so cheap!? The cheapest I can find is $35!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@mediagirl: I bought these! http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?vid=1&pid=967054012 maybe they were $7, dunno, but they were cheap with the 40% off sale they were running!
We also have some shoe outlets nearby, like Stride Rite, and they're usually buy one get one half off or something, so I'll get a pair of sneakers and a pair of sandals. or two sneakers, with one being a size up. Zulily also runs sales...I got E some Reeboks for about $20 or so when I was placing a Christmas order that she just now can wear. Basically, I buy them before we really need them, so I can snag a good price. Shoes are $$! And I try to be careful about what I put her in, because I've had surgery on my toes

I usually buy my LO NB bc I like their wides (I buy them on zappos), and they are usually $38. But my LO's feet do not grow very fast and she'll wear them for ages...Especially if I buy them half a size big.

@blackbird: That's the other reason I just bite the bullet on tennis shoes, because I don't want her feet to hurt or be crammed in uncomfortable shoes that she wears the entire day at daycare! But I do need to start being them on sale ahead of time, you're smart to do that...

Too much. i save money in lots of places, but Jordans for the kid isn't one of them. They just look too freakin' cute

I buy a lot of shoes in advance... I found the tsukihoshi shoes my DS is wearing now for 19.99 and I bought the next two sizes . Good thing he doesn't care that he wears the same shoe for two years!
eggplant / 11716 posts
I usually try to shop sales and buy ahead, so right now I have 2 pairs of SKR shoes that won't fit until summer or next fall possibly.
Barring that, you just have to bite the bullet and buy--sometimes I find good deals on amazon or 6pm.com. Also, DSW stores have kid sections (some of them).
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
I buy two pairs at a time and I am comfortable spending around $35. They're his only shoes, though. No dress shoes and what not.

Around $30 for SKR or Stride Rites.
If I had a boy, I can see myself paying a *lot* more...

I find discounted Nike, Adidas, etc. at Nordstrom Rack. Just bought a pair for less than $25.

Around 25 here. I like to go to the sketchers outlet and get him a good pair.

We've been lucky at finding good shoes at Nordstrom Rack. Bought some Nikes for about $25 but not sure we'll be as lucky once her feet are bigger.
pineapple / 12566 posts
So far, the only brand of sneakers we have purchased for DS is Adidas, and I can usually find them betwen 20-30 at discount places.

We are in extra supportive shoes now due to ankle probation so we spent $50 but bought them a little big so they'll last. If I could I'd like so stay under $35.

My sister gets a Nike discount/has a yearly allowance to spend with them, so she often takes care of it. In between I've gotten some decent ones at Target to fill the gaps, and try to buy ahead at outlets. I hate spending more than $25 since she usually wears boots/sandals unless she's doing a sport.

@hotchildinthecity: ha ha you're one of those my husband doesn't wear Jordans himself "too expensive" he says, but he already plans to buy them for our future LO- boy or girl.
hostess / wonderful persimmon / 25556 posts
@chopsuey: 8 - 8.5. She has a pair of sneakers in 9 but they seem pretty big on her yet.
@Anagram: @looch: @T-Mom: @blackbird: I try to buy ahead, too when I see some I know she'll wear (but, for example, I won't buy sandals ahead bc who knows what her size will be in July). But for some reason this year I just have no shoes between sizes 7 and 9. Ha.
wonderful pear / 26210 posts
@mediagirl: I don't buy ahead anymore! I just gave a friend a bag of never worn shoes that were all the wrong season and wrong size.
So now I suck it up and get proper measurements at a shoe store in town that has comparable prices to zappos. I buy one pair from them and one from zappos if they have it, lol.
Ask me what I spent on my son's boots this year...
eggplant / 11824 posts
Under $35. Lo's feet (and the rest of her) grow slowly, so she is in each pair for a long while at least.
pineapple / 12526 posts
No more than about $30-35. We have a bunch of outlets stores near us, so her current 2 pairs came from the Skechers outlet and we paid $50 for two pairs.

Check Marshall's! They have TONS of name brand toddler shoes for cheap. I like Osh Josh and Carters. P's most recent ones are jumping beans from Kohls. Wish I had some to send your way!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@mediagirl: yeah it only works for basics like tennis shoes that she wears year round but her feet aren't growing as much anymore.
persimmon / 1304 posts
I spend no more than $20-25. I usually wait for a great Kohl's sale/coupon and keep an eye on Zulily.

I hate to spend more than $35 but I will if there are no sales and he needs new sneakers.

i've been able to buy adidas and new balance on sale for as low as $20, but i bought olive a pair of nikes and i vastly prefer them. they are sooo much easier to get on than adidas and new balance because of one velcro strap. the shoe runs a little wide, and they're so light and comfy. i'm definitely going to buy a size up when she outgrows them.

No more than 25 for a really good brand (See Kai Run) but usually I wait for their sales or Zulily sales and get them for 15-20. If I want to find really cheap shoes, I wander the mall during a weekend sale and can find decent shoes (Osh Kosh, etc) from 10-15.
eggplant / 11287 posts
There are Sauconys on Zulily right now! These ones are super cute for $19.99.
