I live in the Bay Area, too. So, I also have lots of touristy attractions around. Shoot, some people even consider our malls touristy attractions, I didn't realize not everywhere has malls like ours, lol.

In general, the beach is a major tourist attraction. I also live near Myrtle Beach and Wilmington, NC (where One Tree Hill and a ton of movies are filmed).

I live in Brooklyn, so technically all of NYC's tourist attractions are within an hour of my apartment. But I can avoid tourists in Brooklyn for the most part because they don't come in droves to the borough.

I like to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge on nice days and that is tourist central. It annoys me because they're always walking in the bike lanes!

I work in Tribeca, so I'm a few blocks away from the World Trade Center, Trinity Church, and the Financial District.

I live in the GTA (Toronto, ON) so we live near the CN Tower, Canada's Wonderland (an amusement park), Eaton Centre, Queen Street and lots more.

Um... Not many touristy things here, other than being known for being the "Live Music Capital of the World" and being "weird" lol.

We get a bunch of people in town for SXSW and the ACL Festival.

About 40 minutes south of us, there's Schlitterbahn! Which is the best water park ever. It's been on a bunch of "best of" lists.

If awesome tex-mex food counts, definitely count us in!

Oh, and we have the largest urban bat colony. Lots of people go and watch them come out at dusk during their season.

I live in Nebraska, so there really isn't much to see here. The Omaha Zoo is pretty famous for its indoor rainforest, that's about 40 minutes away. And a ton of people always come for the College World Series in Omaha as well.

I'm in NYC pretty close to the Flatiron and Empire State buildings, as well as Madison Square Park (Shake Shack!). But, I'm moving to Brooklyn soon for a (hopefully) quieter life with far fewer tourists, more space and considerably less money spent on rent.

In my neighborhood... Lincoln Center, Natural History Museum, Central Park, Riverside Park. Not too far away either is the Theater District (Broadway), Columbus Circle, Times Square, 5th Ave and Rockefeller Center. It is sort of annoying that our closest Babies R Us/Toys R Us is filled with tourists, but we don't go there that often. Will take my DDs in the ferris wheel there someday though!

I live in Orange County, so I live about 10 minutes away from Disneyland (and actually worked at the Resort for 6 years!)-- we're also about 20 miles from Hollywood, LA, Santa Monica, and OC beaches (Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, etc.).

I'm in the Bay Area too. We've been here for 2 years and will be moving away this summer... I had better start visiting some of those touristy places before we leave!!

Deception Pass Bridge. It conects the Island I live on (Whidbey) to Fidalgo which does connect to the main land. Its REALLY beauiful bridge and park area. One of WA most visited spots. However sadly its one of the top suicide places. The fall from the bridge alone....(shutter) yeah. 180 feet off the water. I think its about 12 people a year on avereage jump from it. Ugh!

In NYC, we're close to Broadway, Time Squares, and Macy's. and Hells Kitchen area.

None? I'm not sure if people come to Houston to tour things. Maybe the space center. People do come from all over the world to go to M.D. Anderson cancer center, but that's certainly not for fun.

@clementine: Oh is THAT where Hell's Kitchen is? I always wondered where that was located! I thought it was in California somewhere but guess it's in NY!

@PitBulLover: Where in northern VA? I was born in Fairfax and my dad lives in Alexandria... I go back every year!

I live south of Houston, about 15 minutes from the beach. The Texas gulf coast is hardly a huge tourist attraction, but locals go there a lot. It's nice because it's free and you can literally drive right into the waves if you feel like it. It's often really empty, I went twice this week and there was only one other person parked in a 500 yard area. It rocks!

As far as Houston, there's art museums, an aquarium, and a Children's Museum. Also some kind of historical battleship. We also live near Galveston Island, which has some good attractions. And my parents live outside Austin in the Hill Country, so there's loads to see there! I already love taking Charlie around in our baby bjorn. Best thing ever!

So, we've got the NC Museum of Art but it's not something that attracts tourists, I don't think. Raleigh really doesn't have much at all. It's pretty sad, actually.

I miss living in Baltimore where we had the harbor and the Ravens and Orioles and Fells Point.
