We have a California king mattress and box frame in a basic frame with no headboard. So boring!
Do you have a upholstered headboard, sleigh, platform, canopy, etc? Are you happy with it?

We have an upholstered headboard on a regular bedframe with box spring. Queen.
PS. I LOVE my headboard.

We got a king a few years ago and its just been sitting on the metal bedframe - we finally got an upholstered head board and I love it!!

We have a king size bed w/ a wood headboard. It was Dh's grandparents, so its solid (Oak I think?) and we have all the matching furniture from it as well (dresser w/mirror, two bedside tables, armoire, dining room table/chairs, and two more hutch type pieces)

Sleigh, and I loathe it. It's a pain to make the bed and I have to lift the mattress to do it.

Ours is a king with a very basic, minimalistic floating white lacquer frame and short headboard. I like it, but it probably isn't worth the money we paid for it. But when we moved here, we needed a bed ASAP.

@looch: I want to avoid a footboard for that reason!

sleigh, hate it except that it at least keeps the blankets and quilts on the bed. DH is a thrasher and blanket stealer.

Queen boxspring/mattress on a basic frame. I want an upholstered headboard but just haven't felt like DIY'ing what I want or buying one. I need to though.
ETA: I hate footboards. As a child, I always wanted to be able to run and jump on the bed but I couldn't because I had a stupid footboard.

We have a King with a sleigh but the footboard is really low (below the mattress) so it isn't terrible to make. It also cuts down on the space the bed takes up.

I very much love my organic latex mattress. It is one of the best things that ever happened to me (after my own family and my career, of course ) It is on a simple pine minimalist platform frame, 15 inches off the ground, no headboard, MCM style. I LOVE IT! Someday I hope to upgrade to a King.

We have a mattress on a low platform. I love it, but it is much lower than most beds.
It is exceedingly easy to change the sheets because there is nothing in the way at all.

We have a king with a rod iron sleigh bed. I like it but it's very large, I've been eyeing a new upholstered platform bed.

We just have a basic panel bed. I like it, but would prefer a bed with a shorter footboard.

Cali King mattress and it fits into a King IKEAL Hemnes Bed Frame.

We have a queen mattress and box spring with a black metal IKEA bed frame. I don't really care for it, but is was cheap. We are hoping to upgrade to a king after we buy a house.
Here is a picture of the bed frame that we have.

@regberadaisy: good to know! Headed to Ikea this weekend!

@autumnlove: yeah I don't think the Hemnes King is a true US King. It's longer so it fits very tight length wise, but it fits! Then there's some extra room on the sides.
The king frame is 81-1/2" x 83-7/8". A Cali King mattress is 72 x 84.

We upgraded from a full-sized bookcase bed to a queen about 6 months ago with plans to make a bed (we just have the standard frame that came free with the mattress set), but haven't gotten around to making a headboard. I loved the storage with the bookcase, but I think we're going to go with a upholstered headboard.

Queen bed. No footboard but an upholstered headboard that I really like.

We have a king platform bed with a wood headboard. I kind of want an upholstered headboard but don't want to spend the money to change out the furniture!

We have this one- sleigh bed type top but no foot board. And king size. It was our big splurge when we moved in here, most other things are still old or IKEA.

We have 2 hard IKEA mattresses pushed together inside an IKEA bed frame (that's roughly equivalent to a CalKing) with a Serta Memory Foam topper that covers both beds. I've fully accepted the Swedish style of having seperate comforters (mainly because it's impossible to find King sized duvet covers here).
I love our matress setup, but I don't really care for our bed frame - its low profile fits our weird wall dimensions. I have no complaints.

We have this bed in Cal King except we have a now-discontinued true walnut color. We love it!

We have the same sort of thing as @Foodnerd81: except that it's upholstered! Love it!

@sslm: where did you get it from? It sounds similar to what SO and I are looking for

We have a king size, with an ikea platform frame with storage underneath. We're tight on space, so the drawers are wonderful.

@mrswin: it's from a Canadian company called Dufresne. It's a couple of years old now, but I searched high and low for it! I thought it was a popular look but not a lot of stores have it. Have you looked at Sears? My sister has one similar from there.

@mrswin: just saw on your profile that you are in canada so maybe I did actually help

@mrswin: it's pottery barn, called Valencia II. I will say it's a little bigger than it looked in the photos. But I really like that the sides and foot are low with the nice sleigh style headboard.

Ours is similar to @foodnerd81: out headboard has a black leather padding within the wood. No footboard and we'll eventually get an ottoman chair at the end.

We have a Queen Size Sleigh type bed. We love it, even though it's a tight fit in our older home.
This is ALMOST the same one we have: http://www.surplusfurniture.com/en/dartmouth/bedroom/bedroom-packages/cherry-louis-phillipe-complete-queen-bed/

This is our bed, just upgraded to a king. I initially wanted a footboard so I could tuck the sheets and duvet into it and it would look clean but I actually don't mind not having one now. I just tuck the sheets and duvet into the platform.
