I had guinea pigs - loved them and their cute little squeaks and squeals.

I had canaries, a turtle, hermit crabs, and a freshwater aquarium - though not all at once. Lots of fun and none were too high maintenance... though my parents totally got rid of the canary behind my back because it's "song" was INSANE. Really, I do not recommend a male canary as a pet to anyone who appreciates peace and quiet

We had fish...my mom did not allow animals in the house so fish is all we got away with. We did have cats outside (farm) and then big Lab dogs too.

I hate a Husky who was not so fond of me (was my father's dog before I was born). We also had a White Samoyed when I was young. Then we went a while without a dog and had a rabbit and a cat.
Edit: Just noticed the "small pet" part. I should have just put my rabbit

We had fish and tank turtles.. the kind that don't leave the fishtank. They were lame haha. I got a dog when I was 13 finally!

I had a parakeet who I absolutely adored from 2nd to 7th grade. And a hamster from 6th to 8th grade who was kind of insane--mean bite-y little thing that survived multiple suicide attempts (including jumping out of it's cage on the 2nd floor of our house and somehow surviving for a week in our furnace in basement during the middle of a Michigan winter...).
I'd definitely have a bird again, but I'm not so sure about the hamster!

I had two hamsters . . . Smokey (grey and fluffy) and Bandit (orange with kind of a mask)!
@Mrs. Champagne: lol - cute!

I had a really moronic white hampster for a while. He was cute, but he peed on me and stuff, so I wasn't really that sad when he dided. I had a lizard for a brief time, but we caught it in the wild and and didn't know what to feed it or anything so it died really quickly. I still feel bad about that one. And we had a pekingese and I had some fish once.
I always wanted a snake, but the closest I got to that was the injured one I found at school that died and then I took it home and hid it under my bed. It was gone when we moved, so I assume the dog ate it. DH has also vetoed any snakes, so guess I'll never have one.

I loved animals... you name it we had it as a pet over the years. We had a dog, we rescued 3 newborn abandoned kittens, 3 hampsters, 2 bunnies, gerbils that kept reproducing, hermit crabs, fish tanks fresh & salt water, box turtles... I could probably still tell you all of their names too.

Gold Fish, bird and guinea pigs. Honestly I didn't really like any of them. They were all the kids pets, but my sisters were more interested in the small animals than I was. I loved my childhood dog, Kyla.
