I live in Eastern Canada where it can get COLD in the winter (it's frequently below -20C). DD is 13 months and I'm looking at buying her a LL Bean snow suit. I want something good quality and warm, since daycare takes them outside to play in the winter (unless it's ridiculously cold of course).

I'm wondering if I should do a one piece or two piece? One piece is cheaper and seems easier/warmer, but might not get as much use since in November and April she would only need the coat and not the full suit. We have an attached garage and car starter so even in the middle of winter for quick trips in and out of the car she probably would only need the coat portion. I would still buy the pants for playing outside but I'm wondering if the two piece would give us more versatility.

Thoughts? If you live in a cold climate and have a young toddler, what type of snow suit do you prefer?

The two suits I'm considering:
