For those of you that swaddle your babies, do you use a regular square blanket like aden & anais that needs to be folded manually or did you buy an easy to use wrap that comes with velcro/zipper etc. I was looking at the aden & anais wrap but I'm kinda undecided and it feels kinda pricey for 4 square pieces of muslin.

We only swaddled for 1-2 weeks and used square blankets

I use both together. First I wrap Olive in a swaddleme, miracle blanket or halo swaddle, then I wrap her in an aden and anais blanket over that. Keeps her warm at night and is an extra tight swaddle!

I used the swaddleme blanket with the velcro. I was never good at making a swaddle out of a normal blanket and got paranoid that it would come apart and just be a loose blanket in her crib.

we use two aden and anais... 2 different types of swaddling so she can't get out.

When I swaddled, which was most nights, I used (and preferred) two A+A blankets and did a double swaddle (swaddle with one, then do a second swaddle over the first). If I wasn't home at bedtime, my husband would use the Miracle Blanket simply because every time he swaddled with the A+A blankets my son would get out and wake up crying.

I used just the Kiddopotomus (now Summer Infant) swaddleme. The one I used when DS was an infant is discontinued, which is too bad because it was this awesome stretchy woven bamboo. He was snug as a bug in there and loved it.
I also tried some of those Halo swaddle sacks but DS didn't like those. With his feet moving free he'd get too agitated.

I liked the Miracle Blanket most for when he was smaller, but then we graduated to using an A+A and a large SwaddleMe over it.

We used the Aden+Anais blankets to swaddle during the day and used a velcro type swaddle at night. I was waaaay too tired in the middle of the night to attempt to use a square blanket. The velcro ones were easier at night.
