Both of my girls need new shoes (ugh), as they are growing out of all of them.
They usually have a pair of boots, sneakers, and sandals.

LO has two pairs of sneakers: red low top chucks and blue paw patrol shoes. And a pair of rain boots. He's 21 mos. I have a pair of sneakers already in the next size up and I will get him some sandals when the weather warms up.

For day to day - sneakers, ballet flats, regular boots, rain boots, snow boots, sandals, dressy shoes, flip flops, crocs
For activities - tennis shoes, ski boots, tap shoes, ballet shoes, and just got ice skates
I think that's it. I have 2 girls ...so many shoes ...
GOLD / papaya / 10166 posts
@Andrea: O. M. G!! LOL How do you keep up with all of those and where do you store them??
C can't wear the hand-me-down shoes unless their boots because her feet are so much wider than W's. So she gets all new shoes. I can't get over how much their teeny tiny shoes cost.

@BabyBoecksMom: haha, we have a big hall closet, luckily!

We usually have:
Nice boots (like a riding boot), rain boots (always, we're in the PNW), a pair of cute tennis shoes, a pair of play tennis shoes ... then in the summer, we have a pair a Keens, and some flip flops.
We get a ton of hand me down shoes, and she doesn't even get a chance to wear all of them.
grapefruit / 4903 posts
DD1: a pair each sneakers, boots and dress shoes
DD2: the same as her sister plus a pair of Robeez
They'll each have a pair of Keens, jellies, flip flops and dress shoes this summer.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
Right now she has: everyday Mary Janes, cute boots, snow boots, and fancy sparkly Mary Janes (gift). In the summer she has sandals/ water shoes too (and no boots).
pomelo / 5678 posts
In winter- boots and a shoe, summer- shoe and a sandal. I do a mary jane (stride rite srt are my favorites, apa approved and long lasting). I found some knee high waterproof keen boots that are really cute!

Black Mary Janes for special occasions
Sneakers
My 2-year old wears:
Rain boots
Ugg/shearling boots
May Janes for special occasions
In the summer they wear crocs and sandals.

DS (18 mo) has a pair of See Kai Run high tops, a pair of moccasins and baby Boggs. We just bought him a pair of Saucony tennis shoes and some Sperrys in some larger sizes at a local Stride Rite that is closing and has everything 50% off, but he can't wear them yet. When it's warmer we'll get him some sandals as well.
pomegranate / 3580 posts
Right now we have:
*Brown Stride Rite suede boots with sheepskin on the inside - she's worn those a lot this winter!
*Three pairs of Chucks. All hand-me-downs!
*Pink slipons
*Ridiculously expensive snow boots that she's worn exactly once. DH insisted on buying them even though we only get light dustings!
In the spring/summer I plan to get her some new sandals, mary janes, and sneakers, too.

Stride rite sneakers, gold sparkly Mary Janes, crocs!
That's it for us!
pineapple / 12234 posts
A sick amount. Haha.
We have...slip on sneakers, velcro sneakers, tie sneakers, ballet flats, sandals, flip flops, water shoes (cheap Old Navy water shoes and Natives), snow boots, ballet shoes, boots, boots, boots (brown, tan, patterns, light tan, black), rain boots, moccs, running shoes, house slippers, ugh...its nice to have a variety but I'm SO over the shoe closet. DD2 has her own shoe rack on the back of her closet door or else I can't find her shoes.

In the winter we have snow boots, sneakers, and dress shoes/nice sneakers.
In the summer we have crocs, sneakers, and dress sandals.
eggplant / 11861 posts
Not many!
Now that she walks 100% we need better sandlad and such!

My oldest has a 2-3 pairs each of boots, sneakers, and dressy shoes. My youngest has all of those, but absolutely melts down screaming if I try to get her to wear anything other than one of her 2 pairs of brown boots, with EVERYTHING, even fancy dresses.
grapefruit / 4717 posts
@Alba4: Haha, this! My 3 yo has 1 pair of sneakers and 1 pair of rain boots. Seasonally, 1 pair of sandals. I'm in trouble with the baby girl I'm baking!
GOLD / wonderful pea / 17697 posts
2 pairs of sneakers (1 stays at daycare)

I'll get him some more closed-toe sandal-like shoes for the summer.

I need to buy sneakers in the next size and a couple pairs of natives for summertime.

DD is only in play essentials year round, except for summer when my mom sends her a bunch of sandals. Our essentials are the 6 I listed, plus the the moccasins, which are technically slippers.
Winter: 1) Sorel snow boots, 2) Tretorn lined rain boots (also used for fall/spring)
Fall/Spring: 3) waterproof high top sneakers (can also be used for a mild winter)
Summer: 4) Crocs rainboots, 5) Crocs sandals, 6) low-top sneakers, whatever sandals my mom buys
House/For fun: 7) two pairs of Swedish moccasins (for the house and preschool), a bunch of slippers she says she loves but never uses, ballet slippers.
nectarine / 2797 posts
Sneakers, Mary Jane's, rain boots, snow boots. In summer a pair of closed sandals and flip flops too.
honeydew / 7917 posts
Just a pair of sneakers in their size + snow boots/rain boots and natives for the summer.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Too many!
Target Uggs (these act as her snow boots)
Stride Rite boots (harder sole for outdoors)
Jack & Lily boots (soft sole for indoors)
And that's just winter
coconut / 8483 posts
Right now he only has north face snow boots because it's so cold and snowy.. Well he also has a cute dressy kind of pair but they don't get much use. Hopefully they fit for a while.. For spring he has 2 pairs of sneakers, rain boots, dressier Toms shoes.
Last summer he wore either sneakers or Old Navy version of Natives.
apricot / 287 posts
Just a pair of sneakers right now. I want to get some Natives for the summer and I'd like a pair of dressier shoes for church, but don't like spending a lot on shoes he'll only wear for a few months.
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
Right now she lives in wellies because it does not stop raining! She has suede boots, trainers and glittery shoes too. I would buy her more but she is so fussy about what she will wear right now it isn't worth it.
cantaloupe / 6610 posts
Right now for my 3yo I think we have the Freshly Picked hard sole Next Step Up shoes, a pair of New Balance, a pair of Ugg ankle boots, a pair of patent dress shoes, a pair of patent dress flats, and her Elsa/Anna crocs for play. Oh and she's obsessed with unicorns and she has the Hatley unicorn rain boots.
LO2 is 9 mos and pretty much the only shoes she ever wears are her Freshly Picked mocs that match her big sister's.

My son is 17 months old. He has hobbit feet so he wears Stride Rites. We have a ratty pair at home for park excursions and we keep a pair in each car for daycare drop offs. We bought a bunch of shoes in the next two sizes up during the post Xmas Stride Rite sale and got them for 15-20 bucks each.
We has a pair of rain boots but so far he's just enjoyed stomping around in them at home. Western Chiefs. We tried sandals last year but he didn't love them but we shall see this summer. He has super sweaty feet like Dad so he might need something like flip flops or Crocs.
hostess / papaya / 10219 posts
He has athletic sneakers, brown leather shoes and sperrys. That's it. Boys. They don't get a lot of selection. In the summer I'll get him new crocs.
honeydew / 7622 posts
She does not walk, she's 11 mo and is still wearing the same shoes since she grew into them. Roobiez that I got used of HB classifieds. Gold ON moccs. Black ON Mary Janes. Red Gap pantent leather shoes. Camp wolf Mocs. Blue converse crib shoes.
eggplant / 11824 posts
Too many!! LO and grandma are shoe-hounds! Rain boots, snow boots, black leather ankle boots, a couple pairs of Ugg boots, some SR faux-ugg type boots, gold Mini Melissa, silver Mini Melissa, light-up Elsa shoes ("my fancy shoes"), gray Toms, black sequin Toms, lavender Mini Melissa. Probably more. It's out of control.
