@Smurfette: We haven't gotten M a baby doll yet, but my parents got me one for Christmas when I was almost 2 and I cried because I thought it was a dead baby!

DD got a small Corolle doll when she was three months. She started playing with it around seven months. Namely chewing its face.
Now at 13 months she carries it around and gives it hugs and kisses. -
M got this doll for Christmas. She loves carrying her around and putting the pacifier on and off (it's a magnet). It's so cute!
ETA: She's 16 months

Chou Chou Doll - apparently my mom gets these for all the female grandkids - she got it at age 1 but didn't bother with it much till age 2.
