I'm feeling good after delivery, so I was totally surprised by how miserable it is to cough and sneeze. Ouch!
What was the roughest aspect of postpartum for you?

I was in terrible pain (stitches and hemorroids the size of you-don't-even-want-to-know), and it was hard to just get in and out of bed, on and off the toilet, in and out of a chair, etc. It lasted a good 2 weeks.

Sitting up after a c section - pretty tough in the middle of the night. DH used to have to push me up for the first week!

The worst was a terrible head cold that I had. I was so stuffed up and lost my sense of smell/taste for 1 month. I wanted to smell my baby and I couldn't.

I had third degree bilateral urethral tearing from a nurse trying to catheterize me without checking Emma's station after having pushed for 40 minutes. Peeing was a nightmare until recently (5 weeks PP). And of course I had a UTI from 2-4 weeks PP, so I was in bathroom hell.

Sitting down comfortably was so painful for the first week. I ran out of Advil and the drugstore was closed from hurricane sandy so that was a rough couple of days.

Same as @Rainbow Sprinkles: by the way, when did it end for you? I thought I was all healed about 3w PP, but then DH & I attempted to DTD & now all the pain is back! (5w5dPP). I think I had like 1,000 stitches;)
@Mrs. Tricycle: and sadly, I kinda pee when I sneeze, I'd rather hurt than pee a little-hands down.

My incision was painful and I couldn't sleep in my bed because it was too high! I had lots of sleepless nights on the couch.

@Mrs. Tricycle: start doing kegels as soon as you can. It helps the healing process.
The hardest part for me was sitting on the toilet. I couldn't use the restroom comfortably for 3-4 weeks pp. it was very painful! trying to go #2 was the worst b/c I needed to sit on the toilet longer.

Hmm, I think sitting and standing were painful for the first week ir so. Sitting on the boppy helped!

I didn't tear at all, but I did somehow manage to get my hip out of wack during L&D. I was literally hobbling around for two weeks until my midwife told me to see a chiropractor who took care of it in no time!

I found my post-op restrictions so rough! I just wanted to get up and going - I felt pretty good otherwise! Actually, the post partum hormone and milk smell was pretty gross, I felt like I had to shower every few hours (even though no one seemed to think I smelt funny but me!).

I had really bad tear (32 stitches) but felt perfectly fine sitting up and what not. TMI - bowel movements. It was awful!!!

I know this is a lame complaint but all of the cramps/contractions that didn't go away! They only lasted that first week or so but I was taking some Motrin for most of that first week

still sitting on the toilet. it puts way too much painful pressure down there! I didn't have any hems either, just a bad tear.

Umm... using the bathroom! I tore a fair bit, but was able to control the pain pretty well with a nice strong dose of Advil every few hours, so walking and sitting weren't too bad.

@Thehistoryofus: I agree!!
BF'ing was really hard for me at the beginning and extremely painful all the time. To have the constant uterine cramps on top of that was almost unbearable to me.

@autumnlove: I had the same experience!
Sitting up was sooo painful for me because of my c/s incision.

Not being able to pee for 3 days after my first delivery. I had been catheterized for too long and my body forgot how to do it.
Man, as a first time mom I was so scared I would never pee again but of course I finally did.
