@Andrea: They made all of the parents prepare an emergency backpack, with 1 bottle of pedialyte, flashlight/batteries, extra clothes, a pair of shoes, 1 favorite book, 1 unframed family photo, blanket, 3x5 card with emergency contact info (which they will laminate). I think they have emergency food and first aid kits in stock but they wanted us to pack these other things. I thought this was standard, no? Do other preschools provide these for the kids? I wish they did!

@Andrea: Oh wait..maybe it's cause we live in California and all of the schools are mandated to have earthquake drills. Plus the school is next to the mountains so they're extra cautious of wildfires. They do evacuation drills every month. Forgot you live in NY!

@banana: yeah, my first thought was that you probably have to do this because of CA earthquakes. Glad that they are prepared!!
