Parenting isn't always sunshine and butterflies... but sometimes it is.
When I got home from work, the babysitter told me that J had been trying to fall asleep for over an hour. She wasn't feeling well, due to teething and vaccines today, and then of course the time change.
I watched her on the monitor and she was wimpering and tossing/turning. After a little while, she started to really cry again. I decided to go try to soothe her, since I hadn't seen her all day and knew she wasn't feeling well.
I slipped into her dark room and found her standing in her crib... at first I don't think she knew who I was, but as I pulled her close, she cooed "Mamaaaaaa", in the happiest, most relieved little voice. She continued cooing "Mama" and nuzzled into my neck while I rocked her. Then she sweetly started kissing my like crazy... kissing me on the lips, my forehead, and both cheeks. I soaked up every second!
Better yet, she actually went to sleep shortly after the little love fest!
