I didn't know babies peed and pooped so much...I thought I would be changing 3-4 diapers a day!

The post partum hormones!!! I've been around tiny babies my whole life so I knew what to expect from her. But I didn't know how hard things would be for me.

How NOT FUN it can be sometimes. Everyone always tries to warn you but you never know until you have the baby that it's hard work!

How long it took for me to bond with my daughter and for me to say i love you and really mean it. This is coming from someone who's known as the baby-hogger!

The sleep deprivation.
@Rubies: i totally know what you mean. When people say there is nothing bad about being a parent i think they are either lying or only spend like 20 minutes a day with their kid!!

That I can actually function pretty well on limited/broken sleep. And how many times a day newborn babies poop (LO pooped like 12 times a day the first two weeks).

How little sleep I would actually get. I knew they woke up a lot, but didn't realize I would be THIS tired all the time.

The lack of routine/normalcy. I'm OK with being tired and working hard or whatever. But I'm a very neat/organized person, and I had no clue how hard it would be for me to lose that order!

@MamaMoose: same. I was a mess for 2-3 weeks. Damn those hormones.

@MamaMoose: yes. I felt so foggy and out of it at first. It was really scary to feel that way and have to take care of a newborn at the same time.

I always worked a professional job & a part time retail job so I'd leave the house at 7:30am and wouldn't return until after midnight on a regular basis, I thought the no sleep thing would be a breeze for me! How very wrong I was! haha - I forgot that I got to "catch up" every once and a while before DS, now that never happens. Ever.

I never knew babies had to sleep so much or that they would not just zonk out on their own if they needed to sleep!

I had no idea how much time I would spend trying to get baby to take naps!!!

I've been working with around babies and kids for years but I also didn't realize how stressful it would be for me to have life be so unpredictable 24/7 and constantly feel like I'm not sure what the right thing to do is!

What a roller coaster ride the first 4-6 weeks would really be. I thought I knew, but I had NO idea.
