We're still torn between giraffes and whales but I think we're starting to lean towards the whales since we call her our little baby beluga.

@BelugaBean: Yay that's the theme I loved!
Rose garden, because her name is Rose.

I have no idea yet...I'm thinking something with/about bicycles because it's DH's job and obsession, but I'm not sure how it would work yet...I'm currently in denial that I'm more than halfway there, lol.

Ours was Sesame Street and the color theme was green and yellow! Since he was born the year of the dragon, I had some touches of dragons stuff too. Dragon cupcakes and a dragon centerpiece etc.

We are having a combined birthday party with DD and DS. DS's, who is one on Friday!!!, theme is "cowboy" and DD's, who is 3 in March, theme is "princess." So it is a "royal hootenanny!"

@FutureMrsMcK: ooo, you could do a super cute 'tandem bike' theme, or tricycles maybe? I just love tandem bikes.

Woodland animals because we're having it at the nature center!

@prettylizy: Oh that's a cute idea! I'm sort of thinking that maybe I should hold off on a bicycle theme until he's a little bit older (and can, you know, ride a bi- or tricycle.)

@FutureMrsMcK: you could just keep re-using the same decorations for a few years, he'll never know!! lol!

We're doing a pink and pale blue, shabby chic, "burlap and lace" theme.

@sloaneandpuffy: fun!! Do you have pics?
@HLK208: that's adorable!

@Bao: it was a no brainer for me because most party decorations come in basic rainbow colours and I could just make them my own without having to special order anything.

My oldest son had sesame stree, my twins had a cowboy theme, and my daughter was Peter Pan/tinkerbell. It was a combo party for her first and her brothers fourth

circus! we had a balloon/glitter tattoo artist for the kids -- it was so fun!
this was actually lil' CB's 2nd birthday party, though; he wasn't home yet for his first!

@prettylizy: Exactyl!!
@Mrs. Cowgirl: I also mentioned this idea to DH and I'm not sure he was sold...I love it though! Maybe I can convince him.

@Bao: it was SO fun! and there were so many easy and cool ideas for decor/favors, etc. we found a TON of stuff for CHEAP on oriental trading. actually, i still have the circus cupcake stand that i can pass on to you if you want it! and the happy birthday banner, too! (you'd just have to make the part with your DD's name) @mrs. paintbrush made it -- she's super talented!
i had lil' CB wear a giant clown necktie and it was such a hoot!

@Bao I need to look on my other phone for pics where you can actually see something.... the one I have as my gravatar is actually from the party but you can't see much! It was super simple. I am not a crafty pinterest queen! We ordered some farm-theme decorations from a party store, got straw hats for all the kids and of course the farm animals were the main attraction, along with a cow piƱata and a chicken themed cake It was super fun and his bedroom is also farmy so it worked well.

It's not really going to be a "party" per say but, I am going to have a loose theme of ladybugs.

not really sure what we will do! as many of you know, our living situation doesn't really lend well to having a birthday party here because outdoor space would be limited. and in september, I'm hoping the weather will be nice enough to send kids outdoors.
add in the fact that DH's family doesn't celebrate birthdays, and we're down half the guest list I may ask my parents or my grandparents (both live within 5 minutes from me) if I can borrow their house for the party!
