Naming our first was difficult, but we came up with the perfect name for her. Naming #2 is going to be harder because we have to think of a name that's just as good!

I think first, because you have sooo many options. Once you have one child, you kind of have a "theme" or a feel that you probably want to stick with, which helps narrow things down.

Second was definitely harder. The first one was pretty much a no brainer with us (family names). I still have minor regret that we used up two such beautiful names on Lala because her middle name would have made a great first name for our second girl. We also set the bar high with requirements that we wanted to fulfill the second time around because Lala's name fit the same criteria.

We thought long and hard about Mei Mei's name and ultimately think we made a great choice, especially with the nickname pairing.

Heaven help us if we ever have another girl, because there are no good names left (and @jholler 24: Harper Holler is already taken)

We've got a boy's name ready to go, but we'll probably never use it!

Our first was easy. We name after deceased relatives so DH wrote down the names of deceased grandparents and great grandparents, and then he picked his favorite, and I loved it. I love all old people names so it worked well.

But the only other names that DH likes are very common right now, like #1 on both the boys and girls lists, so I don't want to use those. I don't mind common, but I don't want my child to have 5 other kids with their name in their class.

I think #2 will be much harder...especially as LO makes more little friends (I joined a mommy group) and we start meeting people with names that we are considering...for example we loved the name Olivia but now I'm friends with two people with daughters named Olivia.

#2 was harder for us because she's a girl. For some reason, girl names were so much harder to pick out than boys!

It was really hard for us to come up with a name for LO. Now that she is named though, we already have the perfect name picked out for baby number 2 that goes really well with LO name.
