With lo#2 due to arrive early next month, I'm thinking of the things we should be stocking up on. So far, I'm thinking diapers (for both kids), wipes, baby washes & lotions, and pads. Any other things you suggest we start picking up so we're ready?

I just went shopping with my BFF in preparation for kid #3, and she stocked up on:
If nursing or pumping:
- Freezer storage bags
- Lanolin
- New nipples for previous bottles
- Diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream
- Aquaphor, baby wash, baby lotion
- Infant gas drops, baby advil
- New socks, bibs and white onesies (prior baby wore them out)
- And batteries! She said too many things take batteries and with 2 kids, they might as well buy stock in Duracell, ha.

I'm going through all of my stuff from DD tomorrow to see what I still need...so I'll let you know! Right now my list is: new nipples and liners (playtex drop-ins), onesies and socks, new infant medications and "toiletries", pads for me, nursing tanks.

We stocked up on paper plates, quick & easy snacks/meals (tortillas & shredded cheese, Luna Bars, English Muffins & peanut butter), and paper towels/toilet paper oh, and laundry detergent. All stuff that we go through so quickly that I sometimes don't realize we need it till it's too late. And the paper plates are a maternity leave indulgence. I hate doing dishes and instead, we have to wash all the bottle parts.

other than the baby essentials I definitely stocked up the bigger/heavier things that are a pain to lug back from groceries - I just stored things in the garage until needed.
toilet paper & paper towel for the kitchen, napkins.
dish detergent/laundry powders/dishwasher tabs
any bottled drinks/cans
shampoo/conditioner/soap/toothpaste/mouthwash.
the stuff you always run out of last minute!

Along with everything @FannyMae: said I would stock up on freezer meals! Cooking is the last thing you want to do but with an older sibling needing to be fed you kinda have to make sure meals are on the table. I was also thankful for our Amazon Prime subscription. Free two day shipping came in handy for ordering anything from nipple cream to diapers in the early days when a trip out is overwhelming.

@autumn865: freezer meals are high on my agenda this time round - my kitchen's freezer is not very big, but we just got a hand-me-down chest freezer from my in laws which will be in the garage.
