We always went to the beach!

We used to action in Rehobeth with my parents best friends and their son, but my brother started eating sand & their son ate a quarter... One too many trips to the ER later, vacations were put on hold.

A few years later, my parents bought a beach house in the Outer Banks so we've been going there for over 20 years. We always drive down. As kids, we'd go for Easter and thanksgiving, too. Now that my parents are empty nesters, they're there almost monthly except the summer months, when they rent it out.

We've never vacationed anywhere else in the summer!

We lived in the Midwest so we usually went to a cabin on Lake Michigan

We never went on a family holiday but I used to go on the annual trip with my BFF's family. We would go to a "holiday camp" on the British coast and stay in a static caravan for two weeks. My BFF's mum would spend the entire two weeks lying outside the caravan covered in baby oil cooking herself (!) and we would go off to the kids club or to the fair or the beach. It was pretty awesome come to think of it, even though it sounds super cheesy now!!

All road trips.

My family immigrated to the US when I was 10 (I also have older brothers) and we didn't have a lot of money growing up. My parents were also just super frugal. We stayed in motels and even cooked instant noodles in the room. It was all fun, though. I have great memories.
