@MapleMoose: cool! I love maple farms. We used to own a farm that used to be a maple sugar farm and was so beautiful and still had all of the equipment.

@looch: HFCS in all it's glory. I just can't give that and Coke up!

@locavore_mama: haha! I use the old school one too, but I did get an organic, HFCS free one for my son!

@locavore_mama: It doesn't, but it is actually decent...it's by Muir Glen, I get it at Trader Joes.

Christmas trees and cheese - If I'm buying any sort of non-soft cheese it has to be Tillamook!
@LuLu Mom: Yes, to the Heinz! Hunts tastes sooo gross.

@pui: Same here with the maple syrup. My husband said he'd never had REAL maple syrup until he met me. The other Aunt J, etc stuff is just high fructose junk, I'd never eat that.
Only Hellmann's mayo and Heinz ketchup for me too.

@rahlyrah: What is greek honey?
Christmas trees- have to be real.
And cinnamon- needs to be actual cinnamon, not that bark substitute.

I don't have brand loyalty, but I gotta have good coffee. Whenever we get frugal and buy a cheap kind, I hate it!

All you hellman's fans! Yuck! We are a Duke's household! We can compromise on most everything else. Oh except, for me, coffee creamer. It MUST be Coffee mate.

My orange juice must be name brand. None of that store brand stuff. I figure if I drink something every day I can be picky about it. I also hate margarine*.
*Fun fact: margarine used to not be allowed to be sold yellow. It either came in its natural grayish color or was bright pink, and they would have packets of yellow dye so the consumer could dye it at home. It had to do with the dairy industry and allowing the consumer to know exactly what they were purchasing.

Anything. I don't compromise. It's amazing I'm still married! I kid I kid. About the marriage part, but I don't compromise!

@evansjamie: Wow, great fact! I wish the FDA cared about us knowing what we were purchasing now...

We spend a small fortune on Ben and Jerry's but nothing else will do.

I don't think I have any brand loyalty for food. My wallet and stomach is fine with whatever is on sale. I do prefer certain brands but I'll drink crappy coffee, if I need it. I'll drink pepsi if they don't have coke.
Now for computers, I'm a big Apple fan. I do use PCs at work. As for cars, I prefer foreign cars over domestic. Right now, I'm loving my past two Honda vehicles and don't think I could make the switch to another car company.

@bluestriped bee: High five! I'm the biggest supporter of Buying American, and supporting local small businesses. However... I will never drive or buy an American car! My parents have only ever had foreign, and me too. DH had to learn that pretty quickly when we started dating, and he met my family. We are serious about our foreign cars!

@Crystal: It's just honey from Greece. It has a different spice to it than American honey. I bought some on our honeymoon and loved it so much I have that particular brand imported in from Greece! Luckily, it lasts forever.

@Mrs.Someone: The whole "fat is bad for you" movement put the kibosh on it. I wish they cared more too.

@Lindsay05: Yes! Why is this the one thing store brands can't get? If I'm going to indulge in a bowl of sugary goodness, it has to be the real stuff

I don't eat them anymore, but back in the day I could put down some Cheez Its and only name brand would do. Store brand cheese crackers taste nothing like the real thing!

No fake food. That means real butter, real maple syrup, no "diet", "sugar free", or "fat free" versions.
nectarine / 2054 posts
@evansjamie: I learned that in my antitrust class in law school! It was indeed the dairy industry - they didn't want margarine to encroach on their butter market share. So funny.
