I would want a once a week babysitter that was great with both kids so Mr. Bee and I could have a date night! I also wouldn't mind someone coming in a half day on saturday or sunday so i could cook and clean!
What about you?

Aww you should totally hire a one a week babysitter so the two of you can go out!!!
I wish my mom, sister and cousins lived close by so they could babysit and help out! It was so nice having them here for LO's birthday.

I would LOVE it if grandparents wanted to watch our baby even 1-2 days a week!
Currently we are aiming for putting her in childcare 3 days a week. My husband gets one day off during the week and I'll be working from home one day. If they were watching her 1-2 days a week I can still do 5 days a week regularly at work.
I can't wait for my ILs to move back so that we can have a babysitter option for those occasional date nights! Or just when there's non baby friendly obligations.

I wish we had a regular babysitter for evenings out or for when I travel. Our nanny lives quite far and takes the bus, so I don't like to ask her to stay late very often. Other than that I can't complain, she is wonderful and my son loves her.

@Mrs. Bee: same, especially the weekend part. DH and I always talk about it but we feel guilty about taking away from family time so we don't do it.

Nothing. Well I don't love my temporary situation where my mom has to help me with LO daily, but in 4 weeks I'll be all recovered and able to watch her myself again. I love being a SAHM and we have plenty of family around to watch LO if we want to go out.

Right now, absolutely nothing. I love that my mom is watching my son and will be watching my baby girl. It's heaven!

Love the idea of a weekend sitter! I would love to have a few hours to cook/clean.
But my husband helps with him so that I can get stuff done and since I'm an SAHM, I like having him take LO after I've had him all week.

I love DS's daycare provider, but sometimes I wish she was a little more formal. Things like knowing what DS ate each day how much, if he pooped, how long he slept and if he cried before falling asleep. If I don't remember to ask all of the questions, I don't always get all of the info. She's great with him and he's on a good schedule there, so it is more that I just want to know what happens each day. At home he usually goes to bed without a problem, but some times he has a few days in a row where he has trouble going to sleep and I like to know if it's the same a daycare or not.
We don't pay a lot, especially compared to some of the larger metropolitan areas, but of course I wish it was less.
I also wish I had the means to work only 3 days a week, or even 4, so I had an extra day with him. Getting a job as a school social worker wouldn't be bad either, since I'd love to have summers off with DH and DS. I think that's actually what I would most prefer - thinking about all the fun we'd have during the summers together - swimming, running, hiking, etc...
