I let my mil watch dd at 5.5 months for a week. But I also was not breastfeeding at that time. I say go & get a night of sleep & let grandmas watch if they're feeling up to it.

I think it's all about what you're comfortable doing though, and I'm not sure you'll know til you're pretty close to that day!

Plan for him to go and maybe you can decide at the last minute that you are ok with 1 or 2 nights. It really depends on so many things!

First, congrats on having twins! It's so fun, but it's a lot of work, especially at first. I wouldn't go unless it was like a sibling's wedding. I'm sure you could leave them and it would be fine, but I don't even think I'd want to leave a single baby for a weekend that early, and with twins it's just more complicated. At 3-4 months, I was still trying to juggle BFing, pumping, supplementing with a bottle. I felt like it took so much work just for our parents to be able to watch them during the day, much less for a weekend. We did go on a couple of driving trips when they were that age or younger, but I just wouldn't want to mess with it unless it was someone we were both suuuper close to.

hmm..how far of a flight?

I had my son in February and I wouldn't have wanted to leave him overnight that early. I still haven't left him overnight even now! I think it's just too far to go! If you are planning to BF, that will also be a huge pain in the ass in terms of pumping.

I'm leaving my 11 week old twins with grandma and grandpa this weekend for a wedding, but we'll only be 3 hours away. And we supplement with formula already so the babies are used to taking bottles and whatnot. I'm just praying they sleep alright! Honestly I don't think I'd be able to go a plane ride away until they are much older. It's just hard to plan for anything because you have no idea how your babes will be. They may be great eaters and sleepers and do fine. Or they may be going through the 4 month sleep regression and not sleep at all. I wouldn't plan on anything at this point.

I don't have twins but two small little ones; DD is 2 and DS is 3 months. DS is a super easy baby and I have a hard time leaving him for long periods of time because you never know when they will need you. I would let DH go on his own

I couldn't have left my one LO at that age, plus with breastfeeding, it would have been way too much for me. But I still have left her overnight and she's almost a year so I'm not the norm. If you are planning to breastfeed I would think the logistics would be really hard.

So yeah I'd send Dh alone.

I can't imagine asking family members to watch my baby at that age, simply because he was still waking up three times a night. Kudos to you if your moms would be willing to take on that! Even at 5.5 months, I wouldn't leave him since not many people would be willing to wake up at 4 am with him.

Also, its pretty hard to pump enough to cover a whole weekend ahead of time. So that is something else to consider if you are bfing. I guess I just would recommend not committing to anything right now.
