Bee has always loved going on adventures, so she could use a few days off now and then to travel! We're gonna try and arrange it some time in the next few months.
I could use time off, but a few days off isn't gonna do much for me. I'd need like a month off or something to recover from parenting ha. One of these days, Bee may take the kids to visit her parents while I stay home.
What would you want to do if you could take a few days off of parenting?

That sounds heavenly right now. I love dd, but dh on a work trip in Australia for 2 weeks and it's exhausting doing it alone, especially with first tri nausea and exhaustion. Once he gets back he's home for a night, then leaves to go on a ski trip with his friends for the weekend.
I'm already dreaming of where I will take off to with my friends sometime in march - the boy owes me - maybe Quebec City !

I'd just sleep! In my own bed! Maybe surrounded by a pile of books (or my fully loaded Nook) and food for when I need a break from sleeping.

Sleep! And go out to a nice restaurant for every meal so that I wouldn't have to cook lol

Sleep, go out to eat all the time, go to the movies once or twice. If it was a longer stretch of time, like a week, we'd probably go to Mexico or at least a beach!
I know I would miss my boys after a day or two, but gosh that sounds so nice right now...

Sleep!!!!! Be with DH, lay around, sleep, eat and drink, watch movies, a whole day of that would be nice! Then going out with DH- out to eat, concerts and movies, out on the town dancing.

If it was a break just for me I would do nothing. NOTHING. and it would be glorious. If it was for DH and I as a couple probably take a weekend trip.

I would sleep, go shopping, get my hair and nails done. I wouldn't bother going away bc there is so much I'm dying to do locally already!

Maldives. Over-water bungalow, a king size bed to myself, in room massage, room service, and sleep.
Dream big, right?!
Realistically, I'm taking the girls to my parents' house at Easter and staying extra time with the kids while DH goes home to work. We both get a break because my sister, her husband, and tween nieces are there too and everyone is super helpful!

This probably sounds dumb, but I'd want my kid to be there. Ha. I would totally relinquish all parenting duties though!! I'd sleep in, nap, and enjoy not needing to chase a toddler all day. No grand dreams, just a day to relax!!

My three oldest girlfriends are I all live in Chicago, so it's not like we never see each other, but we are doing an overnight at a hotel downtown together next weekend. It's going to be so nice to hang out and relax without our kids or SOs. We are all mostly looking forward to relaxing and sleeping!
We thought about staying at my uncle's vacation house, but decided this would be better since we won't have to do any cooking or cleaning.

I'm itching for an adventure! Would love to go somewhere with lots of sun, hiking and relaxing decadent dinners. So many places come to mind.

Hotel with a spa! I'd love to have a weekend in a fancy hotel with a big king bed. I'd get a massage, sleep in late, watch too much TV, and order lots of take out.

spend the weekend in the city, in a 5 star hotel. get pummelled into oblivion with a massage. get pampered. go shopping, eat food, watch a movie.

Set up camp on the beach at an all-inclusive, where people bring me food and drinks while all I do is read and nap. you know what, that sounds suspiciously like my LO's life!

Sad, I know, but I would lock myself up in a quiet room and get my lesson planning finished. I am always running behind with work and I feel like it gets in the way of my time with the boys.

Sleep. And more sleep for a continuous 6 hours. Eat. Sleep some more.

I fantasize about this all the time.
I would go to a yoga class, watch a chick flick, go to bed early. Then I would sleep in till 9 or so and then go to a coffee shop for breakfast. After that I might take a short hike and listen to an entire podcast uninterrupted. Then I would spend the afternoon sewing. Or go some where in the afternoon since I'm always home for naptime. Shopping maybe? And then I would binge watch a show (maybe the paradise? Or OITNB, I haven't seen it yet!) while I knit. Then on Sunday I would go to mass by myself and then spend the afternoon decorating LO2's nursery, finish his birth story, and get his photos organized.

Next month we're going to visit my parents in FL. My birthday falls the week we're there, so parents are going to watch DS for a the night while DH and I have a night away. We'll be doing exactly what I've been dreaming about for child-free time. We'll get massages, have a fancy dinner, hang out on the beach and at the pool and sleep in, all at this place:

I will be doing it in 60ish days I will be in Mexico, all inclusive, fully paid for(thank you DHs work!), 4 days, no kids, lots of alcohol, lots of lounging on the beach, eating delicious food, sleep, sleep, more sleep. It's going to be glorious, and just what I want(and need) to do...nothing but relaxing. Now, I just need to not get pregnant this time....

Does this mean we are home without kids? I would sleep, drink tons of coffee during the day and lots of good wine at night. Read, maybe go to the movies and FaceTime my friends back home!

I have a week off of work coming up and a few of the days I plan to take DS to daycare so I can do some of those things

@littlejoy: I always joke that I sanr a nanny, but just for diaper changes, getting the kids in and out of the car, cleaning up after lunch, and washing faces. The rest is fine!

@jedeve: I think I'd hire someone just to do diaper changes and cleaning up after lunch. She ate quinoa yesterday, and I'm pretty sure we're never going to find all of the pieces she threw everywhere!
