to a work holiday party/dinner at a restaurant? I am working from home the day of our party so I will be coming from home. Everyone else will be leaving directly from the office, so they will all be dressed "business casual". Should I wear something business casual like I would normally wear to work, or would it be alright to wear something else, that I normally wouldn't wear to work- was thinking skinny black pants/tall boots/sweater? WWYD?

What you're thinking sounds good to me. I tend to go for a dressier look when I go out, so it being the holidays, I would glam it up a bit even if everyone else is coming straight from work. Maybe even a knee-length skirt or black dress with boots?

What kind f restaurant is it? I would probably wear a skirt or dress, or do pants boots and a nice blouse-y top with some jewelry.

I think what you have in mind sounds good. I'd dress it up a bit to make it more festive (think metallics, sparkle etc) or you could do basic black and wear dressier/fancy jewelry.

@hilsy85: its at a steakhouse, so nothing TOO fancy, but def not casual either.

I'd do a dress or nice pants, nice top, and boots. I usually dress up a bit for holiday parties.
Although, ours is at a bar, so i'll be wearing jeans
