I'd love to start incorporating a family game night into our weekends now and then, where we play a board game with the kids. But I'm not sure what games are simple enough for kids aged 3-5, and yet complex enough to hold the interest of two adults! Any suggestions?

Connect 4 seems to work for our 3 & 6 year old nieces pretty well. The 3 year old kind of puts them in at random and doesn't quite grasp the game, but she has fun with it!

Have you played Hullabaloo? It's kind of expensive, but my kids and everyone who comes over LOVE it.

What about card games? My LO is 2 months younger than Olive and has learned to play go fish and gin rummy. She hasn't quite gotten the hiding your cards part but she gets the idea.
If not, I agree with candy land, or maybe that fishing game with the little poles?

Snakes and ladders, Sorry, Trouble, Bingo are all ones I remember playing as a kid (although I don't know how interesting they are for adults)
Cranium Family Fun is a good one, but I can't remember what age we were when we played it. -

I think Candyland is always a good starting point
Plus I think they make new varieties of it now - we recently bought the Frozen version, but at 2.5, LO is still a little too young to fully grasp it.

Have you seen the first games from Haba? We have Here Fishy Fishy, and while we aren't playing by the "rules" yet, it's tons of fun for my 1yo.
