I've been watching Luther, which is a show about a British detective who fights crime with a serial killer. Sort of. Anyway it's been pretty good so far. Just started Season 2, oops I mean "Series 2."
I'd love to hear about more offbeat shows! What's a offbeat TV series on Hulu or Netflix that you'd recommend to a friend?

We just watched all of 'Running Wilde'. Reminds me of Arrested Development, but mostly because of the actors. Hilarious.

I LOVE Murdoch Mysteries. It's basically CSI but from the late 1800s-1900s. William Murdoch is a Toronto-based police detective who solves crimes using different methods. It's awesome.

Downton Abbey!
IT IS AMAZING!
Also, Breaking Bad (although it is quite dark), The Killing (one of my faves, but there is only one season on there), and Workaholics (if you have a really cooky sense of humor).

I love Luther! I hope they make more seasons.
I'd recommend: Caprica and Battlestar Galactica (even for the non- usual sci-fi fans, like myself), and Wallander; especially if you like Luther.

I watched Season 1 of The Killing on Hulu in 2 days. That show was so addictive...but you don't find out who the killer is until the end of Season 2.

Not sure if it's offbeat, but I hadn't heard of it til this past year- White Collar is one of our favorites.
My husband loves Eureka, Numb3rs, No Ordinary Family and Life On Mars.

Portlandia is pretty funny in doses. I also watched all of Party Down on Netflix a few months ago but I think they've since taken it down from streaming. If they ever make it available again, I highly recommend!

"Spy" on Hulu! It's a brilliant British comedy about a guy who mistakenly ends up working for MI 5. It is hilarious! We quote it all the time and really hope there is a second season.
